In 2002, agricultural experts at provincial and municipal levels sampled and measured the yield of 120 mu of Shangdu onion king demonstration field in Cao County. The results showed that the average yield of fresh onion per mu was 8000 kg, and the yield of high-yield field exceeded 10000 kg, which was about twice that of ordinary onion varieties. This variety belongs to the long white type, single tree without branching, plant height 160-170 cm, white length 75-85 cm, straight stem

Shangdu scallion king is a new variety of high yield and high quality scallions cultivated qualitatively by agrotechnical experts in Heze City, Shandong Province through three years of cultivation experiment and multivariate hybridization. In 2002, the provincial and municipal agricultural experts sampled and measured the yield of Shangdu green onion king demonstration field in Caoxian county. The results showed that the average yield of fresh onion per mu was 8000 kg, and the yield of high yield field exceeded 10000 kg, which was about double that of common green onion varieties.

The variety belongs to long white type, single unbranched, plant height 160-170 cm, white length 75-85 cm, straight stem 4-5 cm, average plant weight 1 kg, maximum weight 1.5 kg, adult plant has 8-10 green tubular leaves, sharp leaves, dark green leaves, covered with wax powder. Scallion white straight cylindrical, no obvious expansion at the base, crisp and tender texture, less fiber, juicy, slightly sweet, less spicy, good quality of commercial onions.

The green onion king in Shangdu has strong adaptability, it can endure both low temperature and high temperature, the effective growth temperature is 5-35 ℃, the suitable growth temperature of the plant is 15-25 ℃, the seedlings can survive the winter, the summer is not dormant, and the products can be harvested and put on the market at any time, can be sown in multi-seasons and supplied every year.
