The body and wings are dark brown with golden luster and the antennae are stick-shaped. There are 8 white translucent markings on the front wing and 4 white markings on the rear wing, which are arranged in a zigzag shape. The egg is hemispherical with a slightly sunken top and a hexagonal reticulation on the surface. It is light green at first birth and purplish red before hatching. The larvae are generally 5th instar.
