Tea dregs can treat wastewater.
Tea residue deodorization, as fertilizer, but also can be used to treat wastewater! Weng Zhihuang, a professor at Yishou University in Taiwan, found that tea residue can effectively absorb heavy metals such as hexavalent chromium in sewage and is a cheap and effective biosorbent. In the experiment, Weng Zhihuang found that the waste water can be treated by repeatedly steaming tea with pressure cooker and deionized water, removing organic acids from tea, and then drying and grinding powder. The maximum adsorption capacity of black tea powder is as high as 117 mg / g, which is more effective than traditional chemical treatment agents.
