Cultivation and management of Chinese wolfberry
Cultivation mode and cultivation season
The fine leaves and big leaves of Lycium barbarum cultivated as vegetables do not blossom and bear seeds and are propagated by cuttings every year. There are more cuttings in South China from August to September, but cuttings in the Yangtze River Basin and North China can be cut in March, directly in the field or concentrated cuttage before transplanting. South China was harvested in the cool season from November of that year to April of the following year. The Yangtze River and Yellow River basins may be cultivated in protected areas in winter and spring to promote the early listing of their tender stems and leaves.
Key points of cultivation
Chinese wolfberry is harvested many times with tender stems and leaves, and should be cultivated in fertile soil rich in organic matter. Before planting, it is necessary to apply sufficient organic fertilizer and 2000-2500 kg of rotten pile barnyard manure per mu. After cutting or planting, rice straw or sunshade net can be used to cover and preserve soil moisture. After cutting takes root, new shoots occur, leaving 3-5 strong new shoots, and the excess shoots are removed. During the harvest period, liquid fertilizer can be applied to promote the growth of new shoots and leaves, dry weather, we should pay attention to irrigation, timely ploughing and weeding. Generally, 50-60 days after planting, the plant height is about 50 meters, and the basal leaves can be harvested before senescence, once planted and harvested many times. Stop harvesting in the high temperature season from May to August, leave seeds on the spot, and then cut and propagate in September.
