Causes and prevention of deformities of hericium Erinaceus

Last Updated: 2024/11/05, I have been cultivating hericium Erinaceus for many years, and some deformities of hericium Erinaceus have been found in the process of cultivation. The reasons and preventive measures are as follows: 1 the mushroom body of bald and unthorny mushroom is clustered and branched, the individual is hypertrophy, the surface is crumpled and rough, without bristles, the flesh is crisp, slightly yellow or brown, and the smell is normal. 1.1 the main reason is that the temperature is on the high side and the humidity is low, the evaporation of the fruiting body is often too large at the temperature of 25 ℃, and the humidity does not keep up in time, resulting in the formation of Pleurotus ostreatus without burrs.

Over the years, I have been cultivating Hericium erinaceus, in the cultivation process found that some Hericium erinaceus will appear abnormal, summarized its causes and preventive measures are as follows:

1. Mushroom bald without thorn

Mushroom body was clustered branches, individual hypertrophy, surface shrinkage rough, no thorn hair, meat crisp, slightly yellow or brown, smell normal.

1.1 the cause of

The main reason is that the temperature is high, the humidity is low, the evaporation of fruit body is too large under the temperature condition of 25℃, and the humidity does not keep up in time, resulting in the formation of bald mushroom without long thorn hair.

1.2 preventive measures

Pay attention to temperature control and moisture retention. When the temperature exceeds 25 DEG C, the cover film should be opened early and late for ventilation in the field mushroom bed cultivation, and the cover film at both ends should be opened during the day to make it breathable; the furrow irrigation reduces the ground temperature, the atomized water is sprayed in the space to increase the humidity, and the humidity is kept above 90%, and the shade is thickened to cover, so as to reduce the penetration of sunlight and reduce the evaporation of water.

2 coral clusters

Mushroom body base branches cluster many times, coral-like, can be clearly seen that there is a root-like fungi-cord connected with the culture medium. Some of these fruiting bodies die at fruiting stage, while others can continue to grow and develop. Branchlets constantly expand at the top, forming a number of Hericium state of the child entity.

2.1 the cause of

Mainly carbon dioxide concentration is too large, stimulate the stipe differentiation, inhibit the development of the central part, resulting in the formation of irregular coral-like; also because the culture medium contains aromatic compounds or other bactericidal substances, so that hypha growth and development are inhibited or abnormally stimulated; some growers one-sided emphasis on heat preservation, moisture, neglect ventilation, in this saturated humidity and static air conditions, forcing the fruit body to abnormal development.

2.2 precautionary approach

2.2.1 Strengthen the ventilation of mushroom field, eliminate the occurrence of abnormal young mushroom, especially indoor cultivation, pay more attention to ventilation, improve environmental conditions.

2.2.2 When selecting culture materials, attention should be paid to eliminating trees with bactericidal effect such as fir, pine, camphor, poplar and locust tree.

2.2.3 The coral-like fruiting body has been formed. When it is young, it is immediately scraped off together with the surface culture medium, and then cultured again. The fruiting body is normal.

3 Mushroom color abnormality

Mushroom color yellow, short and thick thorns, some fruit bodies into red or young mushrooms to maturity are pink, mushroom body odor with bitter.

3.1 the cause of

The temperature is low, often due to autumn and winter cultivation, the temperature drops suddenly, the fruit body development stage is lower than 10℃, the mushroom body is red, and the color deepens with the temperature drop. When cultivated indoors and ventilated, the fruiting body was stimulated by direct current wind, and the fruiting body turned yellow. The color of mushrooms should be differentiated causes, symptomatic treatment. For those caused by low temperature, about 25 days after inoculation should be considered when arranging inoculation, and the local temperature should not be lower than 14℃. Based on this boundary, the best inoculation period can be calculated forward to avoid the harm of low temperature.

3.2 preventive measures

In the field, the cover film can be sealed, the temperature is high at noon, and the cover is thinned, and the temperature is increased by light; in the indoor cultivation, the wind is prevented from blowing directly on the mushroom body, or the mushroom bag near the window is covered with wet gauze.
