Hardwood cuttings of Taxus cuspidata
The cuttage of Taxus should be carried out at the turn of spring and summer from May to June. Cuttings were selected from 4-year-old mother plants and cut into 15cm cuttings. The survival rate of 2-year-old young branches as cuttings was high. In order to promote early rooting, the base of the cuttings can be immersed in 0.01% naphthalene acetic acid or 0.01% indole acetic acid solution for 3 hours, and then removed and inserted into the seedling bed.
The seedbed substrate was made of vermiculite plus weathered sand (1 ∶ 1) or river sand or humic soil. Cut off the branchlets and needles at the lower part of the cuttings before cutting, with a depth of 3 cm to 5 cm and a plant spacing of 8 cm to 10 cm. Pour water thoroughly after insertion, moisturize the seedling bed with a film arch cover, spray water twice a day, once a day after 2 weeks, 1: 1.5 kg per square meter each time.
After cutting, repair the drainage ditch around the seedling bed, about 16 days, the temperature gradually increases, the sunshine is strong, and then build a shade shed on the film shed, the light transmittance is 40% to 50%. When the temperature in the shed rises to 30 ℃, the film at both ends of the shed will be opened and ventilated to lower the temperature. Weeds found in the seedbed should be pulled out in time, do not touch the cuttings. Loosen the soil once at the beginning of October.
The cuttings of Taxus chinensis var. mairei were in the period of callus formation before the first ten days of July, and the plants differentiated obviously in late July, and the rooting leaves were normal, and the new shoots began to take out. The leaves that have not taken root turn yellow and gradually die. The underground root system developed rapidly from early August to late September, and most of the seedlings were capped in early October. It can be planted on shady hillside or flat land in 2-3 years. It should be shaded in the first year after planting, and the 5-year-old yew can be used medicinally.

Propagation of Taxus chinensis var. mairei
Choose a suitable nursery to choose fertile, loose, neutral or slightly acidic soil with good drainage, preferably in woodland or semi-shaded fertile land. Apply enough base fertilizer, rake flat, and prepare the bed for planting. The seeds matured in October and were harvested in time and placed in the mixture of water and fine sand (water / sand ratio 2 ∶ 1). Rub the seeds on the washboard, remove the seed coat, and wear the hard meat seed coat. The dry land without stagnant water and digging pits were selected and stored in the pits mixed with wet river sand at the ratio of 1 ∶ 2. Take it out in March of the following year
