Belgium is also known as the Belgian rhododendron because of the most varieties. It likes cool, avoid high temperature and hot; avoid scorching sun, like semi-shade; thin and shallow roots, afraid of dry and waterlogging; avoid thick fertilizer, easy to hurt roots; like weak acid soil, water, avoid salt and alkali; the optimum growth temperature is 20-25 ℃.

The northern climate is cold in winter, hot and dry in summer, and the soil and water are alkaline, which is not suitable for the growth of rhododendron. In order to cultivate cuckoos in the north, conditions suitable for cuckoo growth must be created.

The following points should be noted:

1. Pay attention to shading and moisturizing in spring and summer. Belgian cuckoos prefer semi-overcast and well-ventilated humid environments. They should always sprinkle water on and around the ground to moisturize and shade with 50-70% shade nets.

2. Pay attention to plant pruning in autumn. Belgian rhododendrons can form buds in all seasons. If you want them to blossom before the Spring Festival, they should be pruned from July to August, so that the buds can bloom before the Spring Festival.

3. Attention should be paid to heat preservation in winter. The Belgian rhododendron almost stops growing when the temperature is lower than 10 ℃, so the greenhouse temperature should be higher than 10 ℃.

4. Watering and fertilization should be suitable for fertilizer. Belgian rhododendron root is thin and shallow, afraid of dry and waterlogging, dry leaf tip will scorch, waterlogged leaf color turns yellow, heart leaf curl. 1 ‰ ferrous sulfate can be added when watering, and the fertilization concentration should not exceed 2 ‰.

With the right method, Belgian rhododendrons can also grow flowers in the north.
