Primrose, Ying Shanhong. Main biological characteristics: rhododendron is a negative plant, often distributed in high mountains or places. The optimum growth temperature is 12-25 ℃. When the summer temperature is above 30 ℃, it grows slowly and enters a semi-dormant state. Spring cuckoo blossoms in early April and summer cuckoo blossoms in mid-June.

Reproduction and cultivation:

1. Cutting and striping can be used for propagation, and cutting is the main method. Cuttings should be best in June and September-October.

2. Cultivation (1) potted soil: soil that requires slightly acidic, fertile and loose soil with good drainage. Flowerpot should choose tile pot, bottom cushion a layer of gravel, in order to facilitate drainage, should turn the basin once a year. (2) watering: the cuckoo is more resistant to moisture and should not be too dry, and the watering method varies with the season. Spend the winter indoors from December to March, watering the pot soil every 2-3 days according to the dry condition, watering at least once a day when the flower buds show color; after the middle of May, the new branches and leaves have grown up, and the amount of water needed should be sufficient; in case of strong sunshine or windy days, water is immediately watered, and water is sprayed on the leaf surface and the ground. When there is a lot of rain, pay attention to clear the stagnant water in the basin, high temperature and dry in summer, spray water on the leaf surface and the ground, and shade. After the beginning of autumn, the need for water is reduced, just keep it moist. (3) fertilization: cuckoos like fertilizer, generally use organic liquid fertilizer, should be diluted properly, avoid using human feces and urine. Fertilizers should be fully fermented. After fertilization, the basin soil should be kept moist and not too dry within 1 week. When fertilizer is applied every two weeks in spring, the most fertilizer is needed in May, which can be increased appropriately. After the rainy season, it is advisable to give less or stop. Phosphorus and potash fertilizer should be applied frequently in autumn and stopped in winter. (4) others: rhododendron has strong germinating power, so it should be pruned after flowering, such as long branches, weak branches and deformed branches. Pick the heart properly in summer. After flowering, remove the residual lace pedicel to ensure the germination of new buds.
