The main characteristics of cut flowers: very sensitive to ethylene, flowers should be avoided pollination, which will stimulate a large amount of ethylene production. 3. Cutting and development stage: most of the flowers in the inflorescence are cut when they are in bloom, and only a few flowers at the top of the inflorescence are in the bud stage. 4. Vase life: the vase life is about 14 days in water and longer in antistaling solution. The vase life of Dendrobium varies with season. 5. Antistaling agent treatment method: using a kind of fresh-keeping

1. Scientific name: Dendrobium spp.

2. Main characteristics of cut flowers: very sensitive to ethylene, flowers should be avoided pollination, which will stimulate a large amount of ethylene production.

3. Plucking and cutting development stage: plucking and cutting when most flowers on inflorescence open, only a few flowers at the top of inflorescence are in bud stage.

4. Bottle life: The bottle life in water is about 14 days, and it is longer in preservative solution. The vase life of Dendrobium varies with seasons.

5. Preservative treatment: A preservative is used to prolong the vase life and reduce inflorescence bending. Dip the base of inflorescence in hot water for 30 seconds to prolong the life of cut flowers.

6. Storage and transport technology

(1)The optimum storage temperature is 10~13℃.

(2)Immerse cut flowers in water for 10 to 15 minutes for rapid hydration.

(3)Cut flower stems are inserted into test tubes containing maintenance solution and fixed at the bottom of the package with tape to prevent movement during transportation.

(4)Use storage gel.

7. How retailers and consumers deal

(1)The base of the inflorescence stem was resected, then replenished with freshly prepared preservative solution into the test tube, and periodically inspected.

(2)Wrap the base of dendrobium stems used as corsage in moist cotton.

(3)Avoid exposure of cut flowers to ethylene, keep them away from smoke, ripe fruits and wilted flowers.

(4)The best preservation temperature is 10~13℃. Avoid overheating or excessively cold temperatures.
