Etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of canine gastritis (2) gastritis

Gastritis is the most common disease in dogs. [etiology] eating spoiled or indigestible food and foreign bodies. The eye is caused by strong irritant drugs. [treatment] the principle is to protect gastric mucosa, inhibit vomiting, remove etiology and prevent dehydration.

(1) stop feeding spoiled food and irritating drugs. Fast for more than 24 hours and lick a small amount of ice cream or ice cubes.

(2) give antiemetic and metoclopramide 1-2 mg / kg body weight, twice a day. Or oral domperidone tablets 2 mg / kg body weight, twice a day. Chlorpromazine can also be injected intramuscularly 1-mg, 1-2 times a day.

(3) Anti-inflammation, gentamicin 10,000 units / kg body weight, intramuscular injection, twice a day, can also be oral 20,000 units / kg body weight. Twice a day.

(4) for cases of dehydration and fasting, 30 ml / kg body weight of glucose saline and 2 ml / kg body weight of 5% sodium bicarbonate injection can be given intravenously once a day.
