Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Spring is a high incidence period for all kinds of dog diseases. Therefore, it is very important to prevent and cure dog disease in spring. Spring is the peak season for dog diseases. Therefore, it is very important to do a good job in the prevention and control of dog diseases in spring. Specifically, we should do a good job in the prevention and treatment of the following six diseases.

I. Rabies

Rabies, commonly known as rabies and hydrophobia, is an acute, contagious zoonosis caused by rabies virus, which mainly attacks the central nervous system.

Defensive measures: The principle of prevention is mainly to do a good job of "prevention, inspection, elimination and treatment".

1. Prevention: high good vaccination, each bottle of vaccine diluted with 10 ml sterile water, fully dissolved, each dog subcutaneous or intramuscular injection of 1 ml.

2, inspection: strict breeding quarantine, pre-sale quarantine and transportation quarantine, the newly introduced dogs, to isolate breeding for more than 2 weeks.

3. Extermination: For wild dogs, ownerless dogs, sick dogs and suspected sick dogs, strict killing and destruction must be carried out, and no mercy must be shown.

4, treatment: rabies mortality rate as high as 100%, generally no treatment value. If a person accidentally bites a rabid dog or a suspected rabid dog, the wound should be expanded immediately, bleeding should be suppressed, washed repeatedly with clean water and 20% soapy water for more than 20 minutes, then fully rinsed with 70% alcohol, and rabies vaccine should be injected within 24 hours.

Canine parvovirus disease

The disease is an acute infectious disease caused by canine parvovirus, characterized by persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain and bloody tomato juice stool. This disease mainly affects puppies.

Defensive measures: If dogs are found to have this disease, comprehensive prevention and control measures should be taken immediately, and highly immune serum live vaccine should be injected into susceptible dogs. Specific measures:

1. Kill virus: intravenous injection of ribavirin 10 ml per kilogram of dog weight, twice a day.

2. Control intestinal bacterial infection: intravenous injection of gentamicin 0.3~0.35 thousand units per kilogram of dog weight, twice a day. Chloramphenicol is diluted with water and then enema twice a day.

3. Fluid replacement: intravenous saline 250~500 ml, 10% glucose 250 ml, compound sodium chloride 250 ml, once a day.

III. Canine distemper

The disease is a highly contagious disease caused by canine distemper virus.

Defensive measures: available canine distemper single vaccine or triple vaccine, five vaccine prevention.

1. Serum therapy: dogs weighing less than 5 kg, 3~5 ml of anti-dog fever hyperimmune serum per intramuscular injection; dogs weighing more than 5 kg, 10~20 ml of anti-dog fever hyperimmune serum per intramuscular injection, once a day, twice in a row.

2. Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory: sulfadiazine sodium 50 mg, sodium bicarbonate 250 g, 5% glucose 60 ml, mixed 1 intravenous injection twice a day for 7 days, chloramphenicol 50 mg or gentamicin 10 mg, 5% glucose 60 ml, vitamin C 100 ml, dexamethasone 1 mg, mixed 1 intravenous injection twice a day for 7 days.

3, antipyretic analgesia: Antongding 0.5 ml or analdine nearly 1 ml, intramuscular injection, twice a day, for 5 to 7 days.

4, antiemetic: metoclopramide 0.5 ml, intramuscular injection, twice a day, for 3 to 5 days.

IV. Canine parainfluenza

Canine parainfluenza is a disease caused by canine parainfluenza virus.

Defensive measures: single vaccine or five-vaccine can be used for prevention and vaccination. There is no specific drug for treatment, mainly symptomatic treatment and prevention of secondary infection.

1. Prevention of secondary infection: Chloramphenicol 10~30 mg/kg dog weight, or tylosin 5 mg/kg dog weight, or tetracycline 7 mg/kg dog weight for intramuscular injection.

2. Antitussive: intramuscular injection of antitussive aminophylline 10 mg/kg dog weight.

3, anti-inflammatory: dexamethasone 0.25~2 mg/kg dog weight, 1 day.

4, improve resistance: give a lot of vitamin C, 200~400 mg per day, to improve its resistance.

Canine infectious hepatitis

The disease is an acute, febrile, septic, contagious disease caused by an infectious virus.

Defensive measures: active immunization with triple vaccine or five-vaccine injection.

1. Once the dog is diagnosed with this disease, the sick dog should be isolated immediately, and the enclosure and possibly contaminated environment should be thoroughly disinfected. Symptomatic therapy and antibiotics were used to prevent secondary infections.

2. Emergency immunization of susceptible dogs, blood transfusion and intravenous injection of 5% glucose saline containing 5% proteolysis 250~500 ml.

VI. Canine paratyphoid fever

The disease is a zoonotic disease caused by Salmonella muris.

Defensive measures: strengthen disinfection, feed cooked, isolate sick dogs, bury or burn dead dogs, strictly prohibit eating.

Chloramphenicol 15~50 mg/kg dog weight, once orally, 2~4 times a day, for 4~6 days, intramuscular injection dose halved.

2, furazolidone 2~6 mg per kilogram of dog weight, divided into 2 oral administration, for 5~7 days.

3, Xinnuoming 0.02~0.05 grams per kilogram of dog weight, 2 times a day, for 7 days.

4. 10~25 grams of garlic are mashed into mud for oral administration, 3 times a day for 3~4 days.
