New strain of Codonopsis pilosula 92-02

I. Variety introduction: Dangshen is one of the main traditional Chinese medicinal materials in Dingxi City, Gansu Province. The planting area over the years is about 18,700 hm2, and the total output is more than 30,000 t, accounting for 40% of the national Dangshen share. In 2001, Weiyuan County of Dingxi City was named "the hometown of Dangshen in China" by the organizing committee of the hometown of specialty of Chinese Agricultural Society. Dangshen has become one of the important pillar industries of Dingxi City. However, at present, Dangshen planted in the field is basically a mixture of various types, which has caused adverse effects on yield and quality, and seriously restricted the sustainable development of Dangshen industry. Therefore, it is an important measure to promote the sustainable development of local economy to breed new varieties of Codonopsis pilosula which are suitable for cultivation in main production areas of Codonopsis pilosula, have remarkable characteristics, stable characters, wide disease and insect resistance, strong stress resistance, good yield and meet the standards stipulated in Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Gansu Dangshen new strain 92-02 was bred by mixed selection method in Dingxi City Drought Farming Center from 1992 to 2004. This strain has green stems, yellowish green corolla and purple spots. Growth vigor, stress resistance, disease resistance, comprehensive agronomic traits, high and stable yield, quality in line with the "Chinese Pharmacopoeia" standards. This research achievement passed the provincial appraisal and acceptance in July 2004, and the level reached the advanced level in China.

2. Economic benefits: Gansu Dangshen new strain 92-02, through holding technical training classes, on-site observation and study, printing and distributing technical materials, strengthening popularization efforts and other measures, from 2001 to 2004 has been popularized area accumulated 10.79 million hm2, the total increase of fresh Dangshen 13.7853 million kg, the total net income of 30.0305 million yuan. It is predicted that this strain has a broad application prospect in production. If the application period is calculated according to 10 years, the annual extension area is 16,700 hm2, and the yield increase range is 16%, the annual yield increase of Dangshen dry products is 10,000 t, and the total yield increase is 100,000 t, and the total yield increase is 210 million yuan.
