Planting and Popularization of Taxus
The yew, also known as the yew, is an evergreen coniferous plant of the red bean genus of the red bean family. It is mainly distributed in North America, northern Europe and Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Daxing'an Mountains, Taihang Mountains, Qinling Mountains and Funiu Mountains in China. The main varieties are North American Mantia yew, Florida yew, Yunnan yew, northeast yew and southern yew in China.
I. growth conditions
Taxus belongs to the genus Taxus of Taxus family. There are 11 species in the world, all of which are distributed in the Northern Hemisphere and 4 species and 1 variety in China. Taxus is mostly born in valleys, river valleys and ditches with shady and semi-shady slopes at an altitude of 800 to 3200 meters above sea level, and a few grow in needles, broad-leaved forests and behind houses.
In the soil quality, like brown forest soil, yellow-brown soil, purple soil, the soil is required to be fertile and loose, and the PH value is between 5.5 and 6.5.
This kind of tree is a negative tree species and likes warm and humid environment, but it has strong adaptability to the environment. For example, the introduced Taxus mairei can be planted in Pingchuan after improvement, and the areas with sufficient light are not affected, and the lateral roots are well developed, drought-resistant, cold-resistant and the crown is full.
This kind of tree species does not have high requirements for light, and generally has side light. However, most varieties like warm and humid environment, suitable for subtropical climate, with more rain and fog, and annual precipitation of more than 800mm.
II. Planting conditions
The development of yew can be planted according to local topography and other environmental conditions, tea garden type close planting, single, interplanting or interplanting methods can also be adopted. it is suitable for barren slopes, river beaches, front and back houses, ridges, ridges and other areas that meet the planting conditions, and branches and leaves can be picked in the fourth year after planting.
III. Geographical and climatic conditions
The topography of Hanzhong in Shaanxi Province is distributed step by step according to high mountains, shallow mountains, hills and flat land, with an average elevation of 800 meters, and many topography is U-shaped, which is very beneficial to the growth of Taxus mairei. Due to the influence of the Qinling Mountains (the north-south boundary of China), the city is between the subtropical and warm climatic transition zones, with an average annual temperature of 14 ℃, an extreme maximum temperature of 38.5 ℃ and an extreme minimum temperature of-5 ℃. The average annual sunshine time is 1750h, the annual total radiation is 130.5 kcal / square cm, and the annual average frost-free period is 268 days, forming the climatic characteristics of no severe cold in winter, no heat in summer, warm and humid, and four distinct seasons.
IV. Hydraulic resources
The main rivers in Hanzhong City are Hanjiang River, Jialing River, Jushui River, Bao River, Lengshui River, Qingshui River, Youshui River, Mouma River and so on. These river basins cover an area of about 39235 square kilometers, with an average annual runoff of 18.85 billion cubic meters. The theoretical reserve of hydropower resources is 2.6 million kilowatts, and a large number of hydraulic resources create humidity in the air, which meets the growth requirements of Taxus chinensis.
5. Soil conditions
Hanzhong City is located between Qinling Mountains and Bashan Mountains, forming a large river valley belt. The soil types mainly include yellow, brown, brown, silt soil and paddy soil. According to the geographical condition, the soil at an altitude of 500 to 800 meters is mostly silt and paddy soil; the soil at an altitude of 800 to 1500 meters is yellow and brown; and the soil above 1500 meters above sea level is brown and brown. These soils are basically slightly acidic soils with ph between 5.5 and 6.5, and the soil is loose and fertile, so it is an ideal soil for the growth of Taxus mairei.
