Taxus, also known as yew, is an ancient relict plant of Taxaceae, which has the reputation of "living fossil" and "golden tree". It has a very small amount of natural distribution in the north and south of China, and is listed as the eight most rare and endangered first-class protected plants in China. Taxus is not only rare, but also has high ornamental and medicinal value. The yew has fine texture and is an excellent material for carving stamps, shipbuilding and making classical furniture. it has been listed as a landscape tree species recommended for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Taxus seeds matured in October, soaked and rubbed to remove pulp and tannin after picking, rinsed clean, sowed in March and April after one year of low temperature storage, sowed and sowed, covered with soil 1 cm thick, covered with grass and moisturized. The weight of 1000 seeds is about 450 grams, the germination duration is 2 months, and the germination rate is about 70%.

Improvement of Survival rate of intercropping between Soybean and Taxus
Recently, 2.46 million cutting seedlings of Taxus mairei cultivated in a yew nursery in you County, Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, grew rapidly in Tongshan Village, Yajiangqiao Town, Zhuzhou County, and passed expert acceptance at the end of August. The new seedling raising method of "intercropping with soybean" tested in the nursery increased the survival rate of Taxus seedlings to more than 95%. It is reported that the successful introduction and breeding of Taxus mairei is not only conducive to the protection of precious wild Taxus mairei resources, but also opened up broad prospects for the development of this "golden plant." At present, the nursery is in forestry.
