Taiwan yellow potato

Taiwan sweet potato was bred by Chiayi Agricultural Experimental Institute of Taiwan. Introduced in 2001, high yield, high sugar content, beautiful color, crisp and sweet raw food without residue, cooked food sweet and soft. It was tested all over the country in 2000 and performed well.

Among the characteristics, there are vine type, plant shape creeping, and 8-12 basal branches. The parietal leaves are green, heart-shaped, the leaves are large, green with brown edges, and the veins, petioles and stems are dark purplish red. The tuber is early and concentrated, with 3-5 tubers per plant. The potato pieces are long spindle-shaped, the potato skin is yellow, smooth, and the meat is deep orange. The sprouting ability of potato pieces is good, the budding rate is medium, the seedlings are growing vigorously, the drying rate of potato pieces is 25%, and the flour yield is 11%. 100 grams of fresh potatoes contain 16 mg of β-carotene. Resistant to stem nematode disease, drought tolerance.

Generally speaking, the yield of spring potato is 5000-6000 kg and that of summer potato is 4000-5000 kg. The potato is early, the bulge is large, the appearance is beautiful, and the quality is excellent.

The key points of cultivation should be planted in plots with medium soil and convenient drainage. Generally, there are 3500 spring potatoes and 4000 summer potatoes per 15 ha, with sufficient base fertilizer and appropriate amount of potash fertilizer. Spraying 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate in the middle stage to increase the smoothness, sweetness and yield of potato chips.
