Thor agave tequila
Scientific name: Agavepotatorumvar.verschaffeltii (LEM.) BERGER
Alias: glossy tequila
Family and genus: tequila family
Origin: south-central Mexico
Growth habits:
Like warm, dry and sunny environment. Strong adaptability, more cold-resistant, slightly shady, afraid of waterlogging. It is better to use well-drained and fertile sandy loam. The winter temperature is not lower than 4 ℃.
To breed:
Ramet propagation is commonly used. The daughter plants sprouting at the base of the mother plant can be dug out and planted in April-May in spring. If the sub-plant does not take root, it can be temporarily inserted in the sand bed, and then transplanted into the pot after taking root. If it blossoms and bears fruit, the mother plant will often wither and die. It can also be sown and propagated, so it is not difficult to germinate.
Cultivation:
Raytheon grows slowly, and pots need to be changed every year to add fertile soil with good drainage. The plant has strong drought tolerance, and every time it is watered thoroughly in the growing period, it should be watered again after the basin soil is dry. If there is stagnant water in the basin, it will often cause the leaves to turn yellow and the roots to rot. In the process of growth, if there is not enough light for a long time, the leaf becomes longer and the color of the first end is dim, which affects the ornamental effect. Fertilize once a month. After autumn, Raytheon grows slowly, and the basin soil should be kept dry, otherwise low temperature and humidity is very disadvantageous to plant growth.
Diseases and insect pests:
Sometimes the harm of leaf spot disease occurs, which can be sprayed with Bordeaux solution (1-1-1-1-1-100) for many times. Insect pests are harmful to shell insects and whiteflies, which can be sprayed with 1500 times of omethoate EC.
Application:
Raytheon is a small species of tequila, with gray-green leaves and spirally arranged leaves and striking reddish-brown spikes.
Commonly used in potted plants, suitable for family balconies and flower racks.
