Phenolic preparations can cause nervous system damage. The skin that comes into contact with phenolic preparation is red and exudate. The sick dog is depressed, vomiting, tonic spasm, paralysis.

During treatment, the local skin should be washed with water, then rinse the affected skin with 10% ethanol to neutralize phenol, and then bandage the affected area with an oil-soaked dressing to further remove phenol.

Dogs poisoned by phenolic preparations can be treated with gastric lavage, oral milk, egg white or activated carbon, intravenous diuretics, and intramuscular injection of isoproterenol to strengthen blood circulation to fight shock.
