The new silkworm variety "Qiantang × Xinchao" has been examined and approved.
Provincial Agriculture Department notice No. 2 in 2008 announced a new silkworm variety "Qiantang × Xinchao" bred by the sericulture Research Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, which was approved at the 37th crop variety approval meeting of the Provincial crop Variety approval Committee. "Qiantang × Xinchao" is a pair of silkworm varieties with medium silk content, which has uniform development, strong resistance, high cocoon yield, large cocoon shape and excellent cocoon quality. It is suitable to be reared in every silkworm area of our province. The main points for attention in the feeding and rearing of this variety are as follows: (1) the light and density of the small silkworm stage is strong, and the plaque should be evenly seated and adjusted in time; (2) the leaves are suitable for ripening in the small silkworm stage and mature in the big silkworm stage; (3) the dormancy is fast, and the net plaque should be added in time to prevent hungry sleep; (4) the cocoon production is fast, and the cocoons should be prepared in advance.
