There are two processing methods of medicinal scorpion: light scorpion and salted scorpion.

1. Processing of light scorpion

Light scorpion is also called clear water scorpion. Before processing, soak the product to be processed in clean water for about an hour. At the same time, gently stir to wash off the dirt on the scorpion, and make the scorpion discharge feces. Remove it, put it into boiling water and cook over high heat for about 30 minutes. It is appropriate to immerse the scorpion in the water in the pot. After leaving the pot, put it on the mat and in the basin to dry.

2. Processing of salty scorpion

Salty scorpion is also called salt scorpion. The processing method of salty scorpion is more or less the same as that of light scorpion. The difference is: boil the water first, then add the right amount of salt (0.3 kg of salt per kilogram of scorpion), wait for the salt to dissolve and then add the scorpion. Salty scorpions can only be dried, not in the sun. Because the sun-dried salty scorpion will form a layer of salt cream on the surface, and the quality is brittle.

High-quality medicinal scorpion should have the following requirements: first, the insect body is dry, the color is positive; second, the insect body is intact, no limb amputation, no debris; third, no halogen; fourth, no salt particles, sediment and other sundries; fifth, size separation, not mixed.

The medicinal finished scorpion should not be exposed to the sun, otherwise, the worm will become brittle and fragile, which will affect the quality of the finished product.

To preserve the finished scorpion, it should be packed in wooden or cardboard boxes. Keep it in a dry, cool and ventilated place and check it regularly to prevent rodent damage.
