Processing method of Lycoris radiata
Lycoris grows on damp forest edges, dams, graveyards or roadsides. The underground bulb is broadly elliptic or subglobose, the outer skin is grayish black; the linear leaves are clustered, the surface is dark green, and the back is pink green. The flower stem is drawn from the bulb in autumn, with several pedicellate flowers at the top, arranged in an umbrella, bisexual, large petals, curling outward, usually bright red or with a white edge, unscented, and the pistil and stamen are very long, protruding outside the flower. Lycoris can be harvested all the year round, be careful not to damage the bulb when digging, otherwise it is perishable. It is best to process it immediately after digging, and it can be preserved for a long time. If it is not processed in time, the leaves should be removed, the stems and fibrous roots 6 cm long should be retained and discharged so that they will not deteriorate within a few days. In the processing process, first remove the stem, fibrous root and impurities, peel off the outer black skin and wash it by hand; then cut into straight long slices with a thickness of 4mm to 5mm, do not wash with water when cutting, so as not to wash the pulp off, affecting the quality; and dry it in time to dry or dry until it can be crushed by hand. The finished product is required to be dry, light yellow or light white, no mildew and no impurities. If the garlic piece through the grinder or separator, flour mill grinding into powder, and then sifted, that is, into garlic powder. Garlic slices or powder can be packed in bags or bamboo baskets and stored in a dry place, but should not be mixed with food so as not to poison the food.
