According to information released by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, they have received a request from China's National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) to export fresh dates from China to the United States. On this basis, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture of the requesting country conducted a pest risk analysis and formulated a risk management document to clarify the plant quarantine measures that can be applied to Chinese fresh jujube.

These measures involve producers, Packers and exporters to minimize the risk of pests before fresh dates are imported into the United States. These include restrictions of origin, pest-free production areas, fruit fly management, registration of production sites and packaging plants, etc. imports are also required to be restricted to merchant ships, and each consignment must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate and a declaration that the above measures have been taken.
