First, select lean cattle. Not all lean cattle can be purchased for fattening, only those lean cattle caused by poor feeding management and heavy work can be quickly fattened after careful feeding management. Selection of thin cattle must be careful, avoid buying too old, extremely weak physique, suffering from chronic digestive tract diseases or infectious diseases thin cattle.

II. Prevention of diseases and insect pests. The newly bought lean cattle should be thoroughly examined and injected with foot and mouth disease, brucellosis and clostridium welchii vaccine before entering the house for mixed breeding. Before fattening lean cattle, deworming and strengthening the stomach should be carried out first. 4 Chongxing capsules can be taken orally for every 100 kg body weight. In addition, newly bought cattle are easy to produce stress reaction due to environmental changes, transportation, shock and other reasons. 0.5% salt and 1% brown sugar can be added to drinking water, so that cattle can drink continuously for 1 week. At the beginning of fertilizer, feed high-quality green and hay, feed a small amount of bran after 2 days, and then gradually transition to fertilizer.

III. Fattening by stages. The time for fattening and thinning cattle should generally be controlled in 50-60 days, which can be divided into 3 stages.

The first stage (6-8 days): mainly to train cattle to learn to eat mixed feed. The method is: first let cattle starve continuously for 1-2 days, then mix a small amount of compound feed into ammoniated straw to feed, generally after 2-3 days of training, cattle can feed on the trough.

The second stage (10-12 days) is mainly to restore the body condition of cattle. When feeding, gradually increase the feeding amount of compound feed. Each cow can be fed with 700- 750g compound feed and 100- 120g urea (no need to add urea when using ammoniated straw feed) every day. Feed in three times, and let them eat forage freely.

The third stage (35-40 days): is the key period for rapid fattening. The feed amount of compound feed per cow should be increased from 750 g to 1000 g per day, urea from 100-120 g to 150 g per day, and forage should be freely consumed by cattle. If conditions permit, at about 11 o 'clock every night can also be added to feed the right amount of night grass, in order to further improve the fattening effect.

IV. Careful management. During the fattening period, try to create a warm, quiet and comfortable living environment for cattle. It is best to use short ropes to fix cattle in order to reduce the amount of exercise and reduce their energy consumption. Brush cattle body regularly once a day in the morning, which can promote blood circulation and metabolism of the body and enhance the appetite of cattle. In the process of fattening, attention should be paid to observing the feeding, excretion and mental status of the herd, and timely treatment should be given to sick cattle.

In the later stage of fattening, attention should be paid to the growth status of cattle, weighing and body measurement should be carried out regularly. When fat is exposed, there are back grooves, buttocks are rounded, fat deposits are found in bull scrotum and cow breasts, and the market is optimistic, they should be sold quickly to obtain better economic benefits.
