Dendrobium is a very precious traditional Chinese medicine in China, which has a very large planting area. Dendrobium has the effects of invigorating the stomach, moisturizing the lung and kidney, which can improve the immune ability of the human body, enhance the memory of the human body, and has a very good recovery effect on all organs of human beings. Now one of the more important work of planting Dendrobium is how to reproduce. Today, the editor brings you the cutting propagation technology of Dendrobium. Let's have a look!

1. Nursery bed selection

The cutting seedbed of Dendrobium should choose the plot with strong permeability, sufficient light, flat and normal drainage and irrigation. Then use sawdust and other substances about the cutting substrate, because sawdust has good ventilation and permeability, and is soft enough for the growth of Dendrobium cuttings. In order to avoid harming the growth of Dendrobium such as diseases and insect pests, diseased seedlings and immature organic matter in the cutting substrate, potassium permanganate and other agents should be used to disinfect the substrate. Then according to the number of cuttings and later management to control the seedbed area, press the substrate to lay humus to ensure adequate nutrition.

2. Cuttings treatment

The robust and pest-free Dendrobium plant was selected as the cutting mother plant, and then the two-year-old branches were selected on the plant, which required sturdy branches and full bud tips. Branches should not choose flowering or immature branches, when cutting off, it should be about 0.3 cm under the petiole as the lower incision, keeping two or so 2 bud ports, to ensure that the incision is smooth, should not be too large. Try to do it in the morning or on a cloudy day, when the cuttings have sufficient water content, strong healing ability and high rooting rate. After cutting, put the cuttings in potassium permanganate solution for disinfection, soak for about 15 minutes, clean, and then use rooting agent dipped in 2 seedlings, do not touch axillary buds and concentration, prevent germination from being blocked.

3. Timely cutting

Cutting time is also very important for the subsequent growth of Dendrobium, generally in April-September every year, the temperature of this period is very suitable for cuttings growth. Then cut the treated cuttings into the prepared substrate, pay attention to the cuttings with the bud eyes facing up, and then tilt slightly into the substrate. The cutting depth should not exceed half of the cuttings to prevent the aboveground parts from growing and it is difficult to form independent plants. And also pay attention to the cutting density, not too dense cuttings, avoid mutual influence on light absorption, consumption of too much nutrition, affecting the growth of cuttings.

4. Plug-in management

After cutting, the water content of the seedling bed should be controlled at about 60%, then the air humidity should be kept at about 85%, and the phenomenon of water shortage should be watered in time. When the wound heals gradually in about half a month, the amount of water can be reduced properly, the ventilation can be done well, and the rooting rate of cuttings can be improved. Watering immediately after cutting, the temperature should not be higher than the soil temperature, appropriate shading to do a good job of cooling and moisturizing. The rooting temperature of cuttings is about 22-24 degrees. If it is too high, it should be ventilated and watered properly to lower the temperature. Then it is necessary to properly spray mancozeb and other agents, about once every 5 days, reduce as appropriate after rooting, and properly spray foliar fertilizer after healing. When the cuttings grow for half a year and reach about 18 cm in length, they can be transplanted in spring and autumn.

The above is a brief introduction of Dendrobium cutting propagation technology, Dendrobium cutting propagation is the main propagation method, but also the most widely used. It is more suitable for large-scale planting, but we need to master certain skills in order to ensure the success of reproduction. That's all for today's introduction.
