In order to implement the epidemic prevention of African classical swine fever, Premier Su Tseng-chang immediately went to Taoyuan International Airport to inspect the border prevention and quarantine-related actions of African classical swine fever and cheered the team after taking office yesterday (14).

After listening to a briefing by the Prevention and Inspection Bureau of the Council of Agriculture, President Su Tseng-chang stressed that at present, the inspection rate of hand luggage is only 30%, but African classical swine fever has a 100% fatality rate. Once the invasion, it will cause hundreds of billions of losses to related industries, affect the livelihood of the people, and cause national security problems. For passengers from high-risk areas of baggage inspection, especially hand luggage carrying meat violations is the most serious, quarantine should reach 100%. If there is a shortage of inspection equipment or manpower, the government will fully support it, and the relevant units should properly design the moving line for baggage inspection to facilitate passengers passing through customs.

President Su Tseng-chang pointed out that the leaders or staff of tour groups should be familiar with the government's epidemic prevention regulations, and if there are still tourists who violate the regulations, not only the tour leaders, but also travel agencies should be held responsible. In addition, the billboards prepared by epidemic prevention units should be enlarged and the content should be clear at a glance, so that tourists know the contents of government prevention and control.

The Council of Agriculture of the Executive Yuan pointed out that during the Spring Festival dredging period, intensive joint inspection will be conducted, pocket tactics will be adopted, key flights will be flexibly adjusted close to the counter of the Prevention and Inspection Bureau, and the joint inspection and arrest line will be introduced. Short-term actions include: checked baggage customs and aviation police comprehensive X-ray inspection; Prevention and Inspection Bureau to check the aircraft kitchen waste to be comprehensively sent to the incinerator for destruction. In the medium and long term, the Customs and Excise Department plans to provide additional X-ray machines and appropriate manpower to continuously strengthen the inspection of passengers' hand baggage.
