There has been a shortage of eggs in recent days. The Council of Agriculture held a press conference today (10). The torrential rain hit the egg farm in August last year, resulting in a decline in the number of laying hens, resulting in a shortage of eggs in recent days. Drastic temperature variation is another factor affecting egg production energy, not caused by the rumored epidemic. With regard to the price that consumers are most concerned about, Zhang Zhisheng, secretary of the Council of Agriculture, said that at present, the average price of each egg has increased by 0.3 yuan, which has been adjusted with production and market, to catch up with the Spring Festival when the demand for eggs is strong.

Chicken farmers: when the temperature changes from cold to hot, the chickens don't know how to adjust.

Zhang Jianfeng, a chicken farmer at Changhua Quanyou Chicken Farm, said that the flooding in August last year really had a great impact on egg output. The chicken breeding system can be divided into three links: chicken breeding, medium-sized chicken breeding and egg farms, in which the chicks in the breeding farm are raised directly on the ground. as soon as the flood comes, it immediately hits the chicks, and the lack of chicks means that there is less egg production source. there will be a gap in egg supply.

In view of the effect of air temperature on chickens, Zhang further explained that by feeling the difference in temperature, chickens will increase their feathers and regulate their body energy. when the temperature is unstable and hot and cold, the chickens do not know how to judge, thus affecting the efficiency of egg production.

Committee of Agriculture: at present, there is a 5% shortfall in domestic production capacity, and the wholesale price has increased by 3 yuan per jin.

With regard to the shortage of eggs in the market, Zhang explained that according to statistics, the daily demand for eggs is 100000 cases in summer and 100000 5,000 cases in winter because of hot pot season and Spring Festival. At present, the overall domestic production capacity is 100000 cases per day, there is still a 5% shortfall, coupled with the peak consumption season before the Spring Festival, egg suppliers are not scheduled. Kao Chuan-mo, chairman of the Taipei Egg Merchants Association, said that dispatching will be carried out between operators so that consumers will not be "unable to buy eggs."

The reduction in the supply of eggs has also had an impact on prices. Zhang said that the price of eggs has fluctuated recently, and the wholesale price has risen from 42 yuan to 45 yuan per catty. It is estimated that 20 jin for a box of 200 eggs, an average increase of 0.3 yuan per egg, it is considered that the purchase price will not be greatly affected. Gao also said that if the price index was included in the calculation, there would have been the same increase 20 or 30 years ago. According to his experience, there is no need to worry too much about this price at present. He also added that it will connect with the egg merchants' associations in various counties and cities to keep the domestic price at around 45 yuan and try not to let the price rise any further.

Access: no consumer rebound

Zhang Jianfeng, a chicken farmer, says that such a price is within a reasonable range based on his past experience. Carrefour PR Su Xiaozhen said that the price of eggs in the channel has not yet rebounded, what is the impact of the rise in egg prices on the public, waiting for a follow-up response. Huang Lijuan, deputy general manager of Tianhe Xianwu, said that the friendly eggs had no impact, and consumers were "worth more than the price", and there was no rebound.
