Caused by Salmonella typhimurium and Salmonella enteritis, it mainly affects pregnant rabbits, characterized by septicemia, acute death, diarrhea and abortion, and mainly affects rabbits over 25 days old of pregnancy.

The latent period of symptoms was 1-3 days, and the acute cases died suddenly without any symptoms. Most of the diseased rabbits had diarrhea, elevated body temperature, depression, loss of appetite, increased thirst and weight loss, and viscous and purulent secretions were excreted from the vagina of female rabbits.

The diseased liver showed diffuse or scattered necrotic foci in the size of yellow needles, the gallbladder was dilated and filled with bile, the spleen was enlarged 1 to 3 times, the large intestine was full of sticky feces, and the intestinal wall became thinner.

Prevention and treatment should strengthen feeding and management, enhance the resistance of female rabbits, eliminate the stress factors causing the disease, eliminate seriously sick rabbits in time, and treat mild cases with antibiotics or antibiotics.

Treatment (1) streptotoxin 30 ~ 50 000 units / kg body weight intramuscular injection twice a day for 3 days. (2) sulfamethazine 100mg / kg body weight orally, once a day for 3-5 days.
