Quanmai No. 3
Quanmai No. 3 is a dwarf variety from Nepal used by Quanzhou Institute of Agricultural Sciences in Fujian Province as the female parent. It is sexually crossed with Jinmai 2148 as the male parent, and then its offspring materials are used as the female parent. A new spring variety was formed by crossing with "Ning 7840" as the male parent.
The whole growth period of this variety in Fujian was 128-135 days, which was 6-7 days earlier than that of Jinmai 2148. The plant height is 95~105cm, the stem is elastic and resistant to moisture, and the stem changes color well in the later stage. The ear layer is neat, the ear is spindle-shaped, white shell, long awn. Grain red bark, ovate, semi-hard. Panicle length 9~10cm, 37 grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight 39.4-47.1g. The quality is better, and the grain crude protein content is 11.81%, which is 1.73% higher than that of Jinmai 2148. Resistant to stem rust, light to scab and leaf rust, to moderately susceptible to powdery mildew.
He participated in the joint regional test of wheat in Fujian Province from 1990 to 1992, and the average yield was 5.2% and 10.4% higher than that of Jinmai 2148 and Fufan 16, respectively, ranking first among the tested varieties. The regional and technical varieties are suitable for planting in paddy fields and dry lands above medium fertility in the spring wheat areas of northwest and northeast China and the southeast coast of Fujian.
The spring character of this variety is 6-7 days earlier than that of Jinmai 2148, and it is suitable to sow before and after "Lesser Snow" in Fujian. Base fertilizer should account for 70%-80% of the total fertilizer, mainly farm manure; topdressing should account for 20%-30% of the total fertilizer, which is generally applied about a month after sowing, and pay attention to the reasonable combination of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. For field planting, the basic seedlings per mu are 180000 ~ 200000 and the effective panicles are 180000 ~ 220000 ears, while in farmland, the basic seedlings and effective panicles are 160000 ~ 180000 and 180000 ~ 200000 ears per mu, respectively. After sowing, "horse race water" should be irrigated once to ensure that the whole seedling should be irrigated in time in case of drought; in the later stage, Rain Water should be drained in time. At the same time, we should also do a good job in the prevention and control of grass, rodent, bird, disease and insect pests. The plant of Quanmai No. 3 is on the high side, so we should pay attention to prevent lodging under the condition of high fertilizer.
