Application and Management method of Hokkaido boxwood in Engineering
Hokkaido boxwood is a very good landscaping material, due to the introduction and promotion of late, many design units are not familiar with its growth habits and status, in the design and application of less or inaccurate configuration. As a result, the seedling producers felt awkward for their training and pruning, planted seedlings all over the land, and did not know how to manage them. A few years later, they sighed. According to the research and practice of this park for several years, it is considered that there are several kinds of cultivation and trial.
1. Small single-pole tree. When the seedling grows to 1.8-2 meters, the upper part is cut off, leaving the upper 30 cm branches, and all the lower branches are knocked out, allowing it to concentrate on the upper part to form a crown.
2. Corolla wood. The method is basically the same as above, except that the height is set at 1-1.2 meters.
3. Column type. The height is generally controlled at 2-2.5 meters, basically allowing its growth, and the column type is pruned properly.
4. Combined modeling. In order to speed up the emergence of the nursery, 3-4 plants can be planted at the same time, and can be trimmed into pagoda or column type.
5. The big trees are connected high. Select more than 8 centimeters of the same family species half-crown high-end grafting, accompany to plant alone or piece-planted landscape trees.
6. Natural growth. This is the easiest way. Grow to more than 1 meter.
According to the needs of the project, it can be used as high hedge and plant landscape wall.

Pest control: pest control techniques of Euonymus tomentosa
Populus tomentosa is an excellent evergreen broad-leaved tree species for urban landscaping and improving ecological environment in northern China at present. The number of trees planted has exceeded 1 billion. It has outstanding resistance and ornamental performance, and can maintain the bright green leaves in winter. Hedges, large color blocks and isolated planting are often used as the main planting forms. In recent years, due to the neglect of quarantine and treatment of diseases and insect pests in inter-regional seedling exchanges, the occurrence area of diseases and insect pests has expanded year by year, and some diseases and insect pests have developed into disasters due to untimely prevention and control.

Leaf propagation of Populus tomentosa in Hokkaido
Propagation of Populus tomentosa with leaves can solve the problem of insufficient propagation materials. The specific methods are as follows: first, the cutting time and leaf selection cutting time should be in the middle and last ten days of April, and the temperature should be stable at about 20 ℃. It can be carried out for years in the greenhouse. If you select the old leaves for more than one year, you can also use the leaves picked when cutting branches. The leaves should be picked by hand, pay attention to the heel, do not cut the leaves with scissors. 2. Coarse river sand, peat soil and perlite are also suitable for medium and bed inserting medium, which should be aerated by water storage without stagnation.
