Korean yellow poplar
Zhang Liyuan Korean yellow poplar originated from Korea and was introduced into Liaoning in the 1930s and 1940s. after more than 60 years of artificial cultivation and natural domestication, its cold tolerance has far exceeded that of the original species and is suitable for planting in the south of Changchun. At present, it is cultivated in every city of Liaoning Province, and it has been cultivated in Dandong area in recent years, and also in some areas of Jilin Province. The variety is an evergreen shrub, 1 to 2 meters high, leathery, leaves 0.8 to 1.4 cm long and 0.4 to 0.8 cm wide, margin slightly revolute, surface lateral veins inconspicuous, inflorescences axillary, flowers dense, yellowish, capsule subglobose, florescence April, fruiting July to August. In the south of Shenyang, the leaves are green in four seasons, green and brown in winter in the north of Shenyang, and turquoise in spring, summer and autumn. This variety is light-loving, slightly shade-tolerant, shallow-rooted, well-developed, transplantable throughout the growing season, warm climate and moist and fertile land. Can withstand the low temperature of-35 degrees, slow growth, strong sprouting, resistant to pruning, mostly used for hedgerow clump and spherical planting. Generally use sowing propagation, seeds can be collected after maturity, sowing immediately after harvest, cutting can also reproduce, can grow 12 to 20 centimeters that year.
