Dulan orchid

Solanum should be regarded as a native orchid in China. There are about 16 species in the whole genus of Solanum, 15 of which are distributed in China. Traces of Solanum plants can be found from Taiwan to Xizang in China.

Although the hometown of Solanum lyricum is in China and some neighboring countries, Solanum lyricum is also very favored in European and American countries. Perhaps because Westerners first discovered the plant in Nepal, and its flowers are somewhat like crocus, in English, the plant is called "Nepal crocus (Napalesecrouses)"; in English, it also has a name, called "window-sill orchids," probably because the plant is easy to cultivate and is often placed on the windowsill of ordinary people's homes. There are also names such as Peacock Orchid. In the West, there are quite a few "enthusiasts" who grow Solarium, and they collect a large number of Solarium varieties. Britain's famous Chelsea flower show for excellent varieties of garlic orchid award, recently the Royal Botanic Gardens scholars also published a monograph on garlic orchid. It can be seen that this oriental orchid has already had considerable influence in the West.

When the flower blooms, a leaf grows next to the flower, so it is also called a leaf orchid, and the name of the garlic orchid comes from its garlic-shaped pseudobulb. Solanum plants are mostly ground-born orchids, which generally grow under forests above 900 meters above sea level. The plant height is 10-25 cm. Its flowers are very similar to Catalan, with rich colors and many varieties. It is a good small potted flower. It is worth mentioning that the false bulb of the garlic orchid, that is, its "garlic" or a medicinal material, has the role of detoxification.
