Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Autumn is the season to appreciate chrysanthemums, and the best way to watch chrysanthemums is single chrysanthemum. In order to cultivate single-plant chrysanthemum, the following steps should be done: the plants with good flower type, flower color, plant type and strong flowering plants should be selected as female parents to strengthen the maintenance of old roots. In order to ensure the health of the next generation of cuttings, 500 × 800 times of chlorothalonil or carbendazim was sprayed every 2 weeks before cuttings were harvested. Take the robust buds of the second or third generation as cuttings. The cuttage should be carried out from the end of May to the middle and late June, and the seedling basin or eggshell mud basin should be selected.

Autumn is the season to appreciate chrysanthemums, and the best way to watch chrysanthemums is single chrysanthemum. To cultivate single-root chrysanthemum, you need to do the following steps:

The plants with good flower type, flower color, plant type and strong flowering plants were selected as female parents to strengthen the maintenance of old roots. In order to ensure the health of the next generation of cuttings, 500 × 800 times of chlorothalonil or carbendazim was sprayed every 2 weeks before cuttings were harvested. Take the robust buds of the second or third generation as cuttings.

The cuttage should be carried out from the end of May to the middle and late June, select the cutting container of seedling basin or eggshell mud basin, cut the cuttings into the sandy soil seedbed, pour enough water to keep moist, ventilated and shaded, take root after about 20 days, and then transplant.

The culture soil should be prepared before transplanting chrysanthemum seedlings, and two parts of rotten leaf soil can be used in the garden. Before preparation, 50 times formalin solution should be applied to disinfect every cubic meter of soil before use.

Maintenance usually uses fertilizer and water to regulate the growth of chrysanthemum. Watering and fertilization should be carried out in the morning, dry and thoroughly, but not in the evening. Fertilization should be carried out according to different growth stages, the concentration of fertilizer solution should be light and less in seedling stage and high temperature season, and the amount and concentration of fertilizer should be increased in the peak growing season of chrysanthemum after autumn, fertilizing 2-3 times a week, combined with extra-root fertilization, foliar spraying with 1000 times urea solution twice a week, and 1000 times potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution once a week after late August.

Dwarfing can be treated with dwarfing agent in order to control plant height. Foliar spraying is usually carried out with 1000 times longer liquid, preferably in the evening, once in 10-15 days, and stop spraying after the plant sees buds.

Coring is very important for single chrysanthemum. Coring can be carried out for the first time about 3 weeks after cutting, when the chrysanthemum seedlings have formed roots, remove the undeveloped top shoots and all lateral buds, and then new buds occur in the apical leaf axils, and when 4-5 leaves grow, you can carry out the second coring, leaving only 2-3 buds and only 1 main bud when budding. Heart picking should be carried out on a sunny day, and rotten topdressing should be applied once after each heart removal. The lone chrysanthemum with large and colorful flowers can be seen in autumn.
