The 'Golden Crown' (see Feng Sancai photo) is a superior line of yellow peach for canned storage and fresh food selected by the author from the natural hybrid of 'Jinxiu' yellow peach in the 1990s. After many years of regional experiments and production trials in Shandong and Jiangsu for many years, the character is stable and the comprehensive performance is excellent. It was identified by experts organized by the Science and Technology Department of Shandong Province in September 2006.
Variety characteristics
The tree posture is open, the tree momentum is strong, the sprouting ability and the branching ability are strong. The annual branches are yellowish green and reddish near the base. After entering the fruiting stage, the annual branches naturally droop obliquely. The height of the 4-year-old tree is 2.4lm, the crown diameter is 2.77m × 2.38m, and the stem circumference 25.5cm. Leaf blade medium large, dark green, Obovate-lanceolate. The initial node position of flower bud is low, and the fruit setting rate of self-pollination is high. Corolla large, 3.23~3.64cm in diam., light pink or nearly pink-white; mature anthers yellowish brown, large amount of pollen. The fruit is large and symmetrical, the average single fruit is 167g, the maximum is 245g, nearly round, the top of the fruit is round and flat, the pedicel depression is deep and wide, and the suture is shallow. The pericarp is golden, without blush and beautiful in appearance. The flesh is yellow, insoluble, non-browning, strong aroma, anti-extrusion and resistant to storage and transportation; the kernel is small, yellowish brown, with an average of 4.1g, sticky core, no red pigment near the core, and the utilization rate of canning processing is 82.7%; soluble solids 13.8%, total sugar 9.75%, titratable acid 0.67%; fresh food sour and sweet palatable, with rich apricot flavor, excellent quality. The harvest period of canned fruit is long (from July 25 to August 10). The comprehensive character of canning processing is good, and the flavor is strong. Resistant to drought, barren and high resistance to perforation. Under general management conditions, planting for 3 ~ 4 years has a high yield, and the yield can reach more than 45000kg/hm2 in the full fruit period. In the central and southern part of Shandong Province, it sprouted from March 12 to 20, bloomed from April 10 to 15, matured at the end of July and the beginning of August, and the fruit growth period was 100ml 110 days.
