Last Updated: 2024/10/06, During autumn sowing of winter wheat in 2006, under the guidance of technical personnel of seed management station in Qingyang City, Gansu Province, Longdong Kaluowo Grass Company introduced hexaploid triticale-Zhongsi 828 from Beijing and successfully planted it in Qingyang. In 2007, under the severe drought and extreme cold conditions not seen in 70 years, Zhongsi 828 triticale showed extraordinary drought resistance and cold resistance. The average yield per mu of triticale in each experimental site was 200 - 252 kg, which was 50 - 74 kg higher than that of local wheat.

During the winter and autumn sowing period of 2006, under the guidance of the technicians of Qingyang seed Management Station in Gansu Province, Longdong Crowo Grass Company successfully introduced grain and feed hexaploid triticale Zhongsi 828 from Beijing. In 2007, under the condition of severe drought not seen in 70 years and extremely low temperature and severe cold in winter, Zhongshi 828 triticale showed extraordinary drought resistance and cold tolerance. the average yield of triticale in each experimental site was 200ml / mu, which was 50MW / 74kg higher than that of locally grown wheat. Recently, the municipal seed management station and the municipal forage workstation have been investigated in the field for many times. The results show that the main physiological and economic characters of Zhongshi 828 triticale are higher than those of common wheat.

Zhongsi 828 triticale was examined and approved by the National Herbage Variety approval Committee in 2002. The crop Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences used winter octoploid triticale H4372 and hexaploid triticale WOH90, combined with chromosome engineering breeding technology through 13 generations of line selection. The variety has a plant height of 1.8 meters, more tillers, 38 grams of 1000-grain weight, luxuriant growth, large number of leaves, high ratio of leaf to stem, long duration of green leaves, multiple cutting of stems and leaves, green forage yield of 2900Mui 3300 kg / mu, protein content of 15.8% and lysine content of 0.44%. The dry forage yield is 700m / mu, the protein content is 8m / m, and the lysine content is 0.3%. The grain yield is 250 Mel 350 kg / mu, the protein content is 17%, and the lysine content is 0.54%. The variety is immune to powdery mildew, highly resistant to stripe, leaf stalk and stem rust, resistant to drought and cold, can tolerate low temperature from minus 20 ℃ to minus 30 ℃, and can grow normally at 2 ℃. The ripening stage is good, the ear is in the shape of imitating hammer, the number of spikelets per spikelet is 25, the number of spikelets is 25, the number of grains per spike is 40, and the 1000-grain weight is 35 and 37 grams. When used as silage forage, it is generally harvested 10 days after flowering. When the water content of the plant is reduced to 70%-75%, it is cut into 5 Murray 10 cm grass nodes and pressed into the cellar for silage. After 40 days, the cellar can be opened to feed the livestock. The results of cow feeding test showed that the group fed with silage triticale could increase the milk yield by 1 kg per cow per day, increase the milk fat rate by 0.1%, increase milk sugar by 0.08%, and reduce moisture by 1%, which can reach the super milk standard. In production, triticale and local winter wheat were sown at the same time, the suitable sowing rate was 10 kg per mu, and the number of effective panicles per mu of propagated seeds should be controlled within 300000. Triticale can be harvested as high-quality silage forage at flowering stage, and both grain and hay can be harvested at mature stage. at present, the contradiction between grain production and cultivated land recommendation is becoming increasingly prominent. it is an effective source of forage for the construction of grass and livestock city and the development of herbivorous animal husbandry in Qingyang.
