What do you pay attention to herding sheep in spring?

It should be selected in the sunny slope near to the winter grazing land and the forage germinates earlier, so that the sheep can be driven in the cycle in time when the climate changes. At a time when the amount of green grass is not enough to make the sheep half full, the sheep should be driven to the shady slope with more withered grass every day, and then rushed to the sunny slope grass after the sheep have eaten part of the hay. Second, to prevent "running green". When the grass first began to sprout, it was seen from afar or near, and the sheep often ran everywhere, commonly known as "running green". Not only do not have enough to eat, but also consume physical strength. Grazing on shady slopes with lots of withered grass should be selected.

First, the choice of pasture.

Grazing on shady slopes with lots of withered grass should be selected, and hay can be fed if possible. When the grass has grown so vigorously that the sheep are half full, they will turn to the grass for grazing. At this time, the "one whip" grazing method should be adopted to control sheep, block strong sheep and other weak sheep, and move forward slowly, so that both healthy and poor sheep can eat good grass.

Third, gradual transition. After sheep see grass in spring, it is easy to eat too much, causing diarrhea, such as eating too many legumes, but also cause rumen distension (commonly known as bloating belly) leading to death. Therefore, in order to avoid making sheep suddenly eat a lot of grass, we should make a gradual transition. In the beginning, graze or replenish hay in the morning on the withered pasture, and then graze on the grassy land in the afternoon. After seven or eight days, after the sheep have basically "changed their bellies", they can graze in the grass all day.

Fourth, go out against the wind and return with the wind. It is windy in spring, and it is still cold in the morning and evening. When grazing, it is best to go out against the wind and return home early and late, rest less at noon, let sheep run errands as much as possible, and prevent sheep from eating "dew grass".

5. Strong and weak sheep are grouped separately. Let strong sheep graze in distant pastures, weak sheep and pregnant ewes stay close to graze, and pay special attention to supplementary feeding. Observe the parturient ewes before grazing every day and find that when the ewes are about to give birth, they should be kept in the enclosure.

Drink water before and after grazing; feed salt every 5-6 days, each with 5-10 grams a day; often use albendazole and other deworming drugs to prevent parasites; pay attention to lambing, breeding, castration, tail amputation and other work.
