Last Updated: 2024/09/20, In the past, we mainly relied on vaccines and drugs to control diseases. A large number of practices have proved that this is wrong, and effective disease prevention and control must be a sound biosafety system. In June, the comprehensive health care measures taken for pigs and chickens mainly include: first, heat prevention and cooling (1) heat insulation. The pig and chicken farm should be built in a ventilated open area, with the south facing south, and the south should be open or semi-open. The traditional open circle to build an Arbor or sunshade net can effectively block sunlight and reduce heat stress.

In the past, we mainly relied on vaccines and drugs to control diseases. A large number of practices have proved that this is wrong. Effective disease prevention and control must be a perfect biosafety system. In June, comprehensive health care measures for pigs and chickens mainly include:

I. Heat stroke prevention and cooling

(1)Insulation. Pig and chicken farms should be built in ventilated open areas, choose to sit north facing south, open or semi-open in southern areas is appropriate, traditional open circle to build pergolas or set up sunshade nets, can effectively block sunlight, reduce heat stress on pigs and chickens harm. In the northern region, closed pig coops will be built, with white paint or heat insulation layer on the roof, sawdust and other heat insulation materials filled in the ceiling to increase the span of pig coops.

(2)Ventilation. Adjustable roof ventilation windows and ground ventilation windows can also be built, and the door can be converted into a ventilation door to strengthen ventilation and eliminate harmful gases. Planting tall trees in and around the site can reduce sunlight exposure and reduce the temperature of the environment and the house. If natural ventilation by opening doors and windows alone cannot reduce the temperature of the house, mechanical ventilation can be adopted, and fans or blowers can be installed to promote air flow, effectively reduce air humidity and take away heat in the house. Longitudinal ventilation is better than transverse ventilation.

(3)Spray water. Evaporation cooling is the most effective method. When the temperature is too high, hose or sprayer can be used to spray water on the roof regularly or manually. When the weather is hot, spray or spray cooling method is used, the cooling speed is fast, 5~10 minutes can reduce the temperature in the house by 5℃~8℃, and can purify the air, but it will increase the humidity in the house.

(4)Wet curtain fan cooling. Wet curtain fan cooling system is an ideal cooling method in recent years. When the thickness of wet curtain is 12 cm and the wind speed is 1.0~1.2 m/s, the cooling efficiency of wet curtain is 81%~87%, which can reduce the room temperature by 5℃~7℃. The drier the air, the higher the temperature, the greater the cooling amplitude of the air through the wet curtain, and the more significant the effect.

II. Improving feeding management

(1)Adjust feed formula. Under high temperature conditions, in order to reduce the heat dissipation burden, pigs and chickens are bound to reduce food intake, resulting in insufficient intake of nutrients such as energy and protein, thus affecting growth, development and production performance. Therefore, it is necessary to select good palatability, fresh and high-quality raw materials to match diets, appropriately reduce the proportion of high-fiber raw materials, and control the crude fiber level of diets to reduce the generation of body heat. The oil volume is small, the net energy value is high, and the body heat is low. It is an ideal energy source for pigs and chickens under high temperature conditions. The oil can be added to the feed within 5%. The protein requirement of pigs and chickens increases under heat stress, so increasing crude protein content in feed can improve feed utilization rate and reduce heat dissipation burden in high temperature season.

(2)Strengthen management. Decreasing the feeding density can reduce the temperature in the house. Conditional automatic drinking water can be installed to supply sufficient drinking water and promote body heat loss. Feed intake can be increased by changing dry feeding to wet feeding or by using pellet feed. Increase feeding times, try to avoid feeding in hot weather, and feed at night. Do a good job in keeping feed to prevent mildew. In order to improve sow fertility, should avoid breeding in June, can use synchronous estrus method, so that most sows concentrated in the appropriate temperature season breeding.

III. Mosquito, fly, midge and rat pests

Mosquitoes, flies and midges are vectors of many infectious diseases and can directly transmit many diseases. Mosquitoes, flies and midges can be killed first, and the medicine is sprayed with (50~80)×10-6 enemy killing solution; then the eggs are killed, the removed feces are accumulated, and the plastic cloth is tightly covered to let the feces ferment. At ordinary times, it is necessary to clean up feces in time and keep the house dry. There are many common rodenticides, and diphacine sodium salt is the first choice of rodenticide in farm. The preparation method of the poison bait comprises the following steps of: respectively weighing diphacine sodium salt, rice and boiling water according to the ratio of 2:1000:250, dissolving the diphacine sodium salt in boiling water, pouring the liquid medicine into the rice while it is still hot, and uniformly mixing, and using the liquid medicine after drying.

IV. Establish an information and early warning system for epidemic diseases

Timely understand the epidemic situation in surrounding areas and at home and abroad; establish detection system (immune monitoring, disinfection monitoring, drug sensitivity test); establish daily observation system of pigs and chickens, and timely understand the health status of pigs and chickens.
