Large leaf candles like warm, high air humidity and good drainage environment. It is appropriate to be semi-overcast and avoid strong light. It is mainly propagated by ramet. When changing the basin, the sprouting plants will be separated and put on the basin separately. Each subplant should have at least 3-4 leaves. The flower branches can be formed after the seed plant is cultured for one year. Some also use cuttings to propagate.

The substrate with loose, fertile and good ventilation should be selected in the cultivation of large-leaf candle, which can be mixed with rotten leaf soil, peat soil, a small amount of perlite and a small amount of bone powder. During the growth period, the supply of fertilizer and water is the same as that of flamingos. Like to be moist, the relative humidity should be kept above 85% 95%; the foliage should be sprayed frequently to facilitate photosynthesis and clean the leaves.

The big leaf candle requires higher temperature and blossoms more when the summer temperature is higher. The temperature should not exceed 33 degrees Celsius during the day and not less than 14 degrees Celsius at night. If it is lower than 10 degrees Celsius, it will grow poorly. The summer temperature is high and the sunshine is strong, so it should be moved to a cool and ventilated place with shade, with a shading rate of about 80%. At the same time, spray on the leaves several times a day to facilitate cooling and humidification. The winter temperature is low, the light intensity is weak, and the shading rate can be controlled at about 50%. Candle and Crane are the same genus plants, and their habits and cultivation methods are basically the same as those of Huihe.

The big leaf candle likes the light, but is afraid of the strong light. Don't put it in the direct sunlight in summer. The suitable temperature for growth is above 20 ℃, and the room temperature in winter should not be lower than 18 ℃. The relative humidity should be above 60%. The cultivation substrate requires a loose, well-drained, fertile loam rich in humus. The soil should be acidic, and it is best to use acidic water or Rain Water to irrigate the soil. To increase humidity, spray on the leaves and around the plant. It needs to be slightly dry and ventilated in winter, and cold and damp can easily cause root rot. Large-leaf candle is generally propagated by split-plant method, and in recent years, tissue culture techniques have been used to propagate in large quantities. The main pests are nematodes, aphids, shell insects and red spiders, which should be controlled by corresponding pesticides.
