Culture techniques of red-bellied pheasant
The red-bellied golden pheasant, also known as the golden pheasant, is a very famous ornamental precious bird in the world, and it has gradually started artificial breeding in our country. The meat of the red-bellied pheasant is very tender and delicious, with the effects of warming deficiency, tonifying the liver and blood, and the fur can also be sold as handicrafts. So how to raise the red-bellied pheasant? The following editor brings you the breeding technology of the red-bellied golden pheasant, let's have a look!
1. Breeding cage
The breeding cage of the red-bellied pheasant should be determined according to the actual breeding situation, and the double-row cage is generally used for large-scale breeding. The length of the cage should be at least 4-5 times longer than its width, ensuring that the red-bellied Caragana has plenty of room for movement. Each cage should have at least two venues: a lounge and a playground. The lounge is mainly used for the red-bellied pheasant to rest and shelter from the rain and wind, and the playground is naturally a place for the red-bellied pheasant to eat, drink and exercise. The location of the cage should be relatively dry, with clean and adequate water sources, so as to provide a good growth environment for the red-bellied pheasant.
2. Reproduction and incubation
The red-bellied golden pheasant is in the breeding season from May to June every year, and the age of breeding rooster should be about two years. Choose hens that grow normally for a year or so, and a rooster can breed 3 hens. Then when the hen lays about 6-8 eggs, it will hatch on its own, and the incubation period is about 3 weeks. It is appropriate for domestic chickens to hatch or use electrical appliances to hatch. The domestic chicken should not hatch more than 20 eggs. About a week after the hatching begins, the eggs should be checked to see if there are any unfertilized eggs, and then the dead eggs will be picked out two weeks later. When electrical appliances hatch, the temperature should be controlled at about 38 degrees, and the humidity should be about 68%. The discomfort of temperature and humidity will have a certain impact on the hatching.
3. Raising chicks
After breaking the shell of the chick, the chick should be covered with appropriate amount of fodder outside the rearing room, and then when the chick is put into the rearing room, the nursery should be disinfected first. The breeding equipment and nursery should be thoroughly put in place, and attention should be paid to keeping the chicks hatched by machine separately from those hatched by hens. The chicks hatched by machine were raised in an artificial incubator, straw was laid, food trough and drinking water utensils were prepared, and the temperature was controlled at about 32 degrees within 3 days. After 3 days, the temperature was about 30 degrees in a week, then decreased slowly with time, and decreased to normal room temperature in about 3 weeks. And according to the age of the chicks, we should control the feed, control the proportion, meet the required nutrition and promote normal growth.
4. Feeding during the breeding period
After two months, the color of the feathers of Caragana will gradually be similar to that of adult Caragana, but not so big. The adaptation to weather changes and disease resistance will be significantly improved, at this time it should be put into the cage for breeding. The feeding density of red-bellied pheasant should not be too dense, and each cage should not exceed 3. Prepare breeding equipment in the cage to ensure that each pheasant can eat and drink normally. Feed with the chicken feed on the market, appropriately reduce concentrate, after a year or so, male and female should be raised separately, because this time already has the ability to reproduce.
Before breeding, we should pay attention to that the red-bellied Caragana is a kind of national protected animal, but the country is in order to promote the sustainable development of wild animals. As long as through the permission of the local government, go through the process to get a good license, you can breed. But do not raise privately, without a license is against the law, so we must know well in advance, apply for a good license.
