How to grow Aster

1. Land selection and preparation

Aster generally grows in low mountain shady slope wetlands, hilltops and marshes at an altitude of 400-2000 meters, and has strong resistance to waterlogging and cold, but is afraid of drought. When selecting the land, we should choose the land with flat topography, deep soil layer, loose and fertile land and good drainage. Before planting, we should turn the soil more than 30 centimeters deeply, combined with ploughing, and apply 3000 kilograms of rotten farm manure per mu as base fertilizer, which can also be matched with an appropriate amount of calcium superphosphate. Spread it evenly on the soil, plough once shallowly before sowing, rake fine and flat, and then make a high border, with a width of 1.3 meters and a width of 30-40 cm.

2. Methods of reproduction

Aster is generally propagated with fine roots near the ground and can be planted in spring or autumn. in spring, before and after the Qingming Festival, the seed roots are dug out and cut into 3-6 cm long, then 5-8 roots are trenched in a clump, covered with soil and watered, and seedlings emerge after about 20 days. Autumn planting must be before the Beginning of Winter, the planting method is the same as spring, autumn seedlings grow strong, generally spring planting year does not blossom, the next autumn bolting and flowering.

3. Field management

After the seedlings are ready, weeding should be done in time. When ploughing, we should pay attention to the shallow hoe, not too deep, so as not to harm the root system. Combined with intermediate tillage and weeding, 1000-1500 kg of corroded human and animal manure water can be applied per mu, while when the seedlings grow to more than 7 cm, 1500 kg of human and animal manure water can be applied once to promote seedling growth. 4. Diseases and insect pests

The disease is mainly leaf blight, but it is generally not serious. When the disease is serious, Bordeaux solution can be sprayed once every 7-10 days for 2-3 times. At the same time, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer is applied to enhance the disease resistance of the plant. The roots and seedlings are mainly harmed by grubs and ground tigers. When planting in ditches, trichlorfon is sprinkled and ploughed into the soil, or when the pest is serious, trichlorfon is mixed with soil and poisoned.
