Cyclamen in each period of growth, the type and content of fertilizer required are not the same, in breeding,-must pay attention to. Cyclamen fertilization can not be generalized, there is a focus in each period.

In general, the absorption peak of potassium is from May to September, that of nitrogen and calcium is from August to October, and that of magnesium is from September to October. Therefore, in the process of fertilization, we should pay attention to the seasonal changes and appropriately increase the supply of different elements in different months. For example, 0.2% urea and 0.2% magnesium sulfate mixture can be sprayed on leaves from September to October for cyclamen growth.

Fertilization time: fertilization time-generally should choose in the sunny day, the temperature is more suitable in the morning, do not apply fertilizer at noon, and try not to apply fertilizer in the afternoon. Because fertilization in the afternoon (especially liquid fertilizer) is easy to increase the humidity of the plant at night, cause bacterial infection and affect the health of the plant.

Fertilization methods: cyclamen's fertilization methods include topdressing liquid fertilizer, spreading granular fertilizer and extra-root topdressing.

(1) liquid fertilizer. It is widely used in the process of plant growth, mainly topdressing. The application method is: pour the prepared fertilizer directly into the basin, and the amount of each basin depends on the size of the basin, 15 cm 300ml per basin and 20 cm basin 500ml per basin. The amount of fertilizer application should be able to fully wet the substrate and there is no excessive outflow of nutrient solution, so as to avoid nutrient loss.

(2) granular fertilizer. A certain amount of granular fertilizer can be mixed into the substrate, which is about 3 grams per kilogram of substrate, or it can be sprinkled into the pot during plant growth to be used as topdressing. The location of application should be on the edge of the basin or far away from the root as far as possible to avoid direct contact with the root of the plant and damage the root. Sprinkle 15-20 particles per basin in 15 cm basin and 20-25 particles in 20 cm basin. Pour water thoroughly after sprinkling, which is beneficial to the dissolution and absorption of fertilizer.

(3) extra-root topdressing. It is mostly used to supplement trace elements and treat element deficiency, and its concentration should not be too high. The range is 0.1-0.3%. In addition, the time of spraying should be as far as possible before 10:00 in the morning on a sunny day, and the temperature is 20 degrees Celsius. If there are special circumstances, it can also be sprayed after 4 o'clock in the afternoon to give full play to the fertilizer effect and is beneficial to the absorption and utilization of the plant.

Rational mixed use of fertilizer: reasonable mixed use of fertilizer can not only save time and time, but also improve the utilization rate of fertilizer. But not all fertilizers can be mixed, such as urea can not be mixed with potassium nitrate, but can be mixed with potassium sulfate; calcium nitrate can not be mixed with ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate, but should be mixed with potassium sulfate, and so on. These conditions should be paid attention to in the process of preparing olamine solution.

What should we pay attention to when cultivating cyclamen?

Cyclamen culture methods should be able to prolong the florescence, colorful flowers, in breeding, we should pay special attention to fertilizer and water management, ventilation and shading and changing pots.

1. Strengthen the management of fertilizer and water. Cyclamen is fertilized once every ten days during the growth and development period, and there is more sunlight gradually, which does not make the petiole grow too long and affect the beauty. When the pedicel is pulled out to budding, apply bone powder or superphosphate once more. In the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, New Year's Day can blossom around. Stop applying nitrogen fertilizer during flowering, and control watering, especially in rainy and snowy days, water can not be poured on flower buds and tender leaves, otherwise it is easy to rot and affect normal flowering. After flowering, bone powder was applied again to facilitate fruit development and seed ripening. The fruit began to mature before and after May. After harvest, the seeds were peeled off and stored in a ventilated place to dry. In the early stage of cyclamen growth, 20 Mel 20 universal fertilizer can be used, that is, nitrogen content (n) 20%, phosphorus content (p2o5) 20%, potassium content (K2O) 20%. The special fertilizer for potted flowers can be used at flowering stage, 15mur15Mel 20 water-soluble and efficient nutrient solution.

2. Pay attention to ventilation and shading. Cyclamen growth period should always pay attention to indoor ventilation and shade, when the leaves are luxuriant, open the basin distance, so as not to cause the leaves to turn yellow and rot. Cyclamen is in full bloom around the Spring Festival, and ventilation should be adjusted in sunny days to avoid excessive indoor humidity, causing flowers to wither and pedicels to rot. The filling period is when the temperature rises, the amount of water increases, strictly prevent indoor temperature and humidity is too high, pay attention to ventilation regulation, so as not to cause flower stem rot and fruit mildew. In the middle of June, the leaves began to turn yellow and fall off, and the corms entered the dormant period. Put dormant bulbs in a well-ventilated, cool place and maintain a constant humidity. Too wet bulbs are easy to rot and too late to sprout and blossom.

3. Change the basin at the right time. Dormant bulbs begin to sprout in mid-September, change the basin immediately, do not cover the soil without bulbs. When the cyclamen bulb which has just changed the basin sends new roots, it should not be watered too much to prevent rotten balls, and the basin soil should be slightly dry.

Is cyclamen poisonous?

In fact, cyclamen this kind of plant is toxic to a certain extent, especially its rhizome, if eaten by mistake, it may lead to diarrhea, vomiting and other symptoms; skin contact may cause skin redness, swelling and itching; if these symptoms appear, please consult a doctor, do not let animals or children mistakenly eat the plant and its roots.

Growth habits of cyclamen

Cyclamen likes warm environment and is afraid of heat. It can also grow well in cool environment and fertile sandy loam rich in humus. It is also relatively cold-resistant, at least able to withstand a low temperature of 0 degrees without freezing damage. Spring is its growing season from autumn to the following year, semi-dormant in summer, and the most suitable growth temperature in winter is between 12 and 16 degrees.

What should be paid attention to in cyclamen breeding?

When cultivating it, we must choose loose and fertile soil, or we can use 2 parts of rotten leaf soil plus 1 point of garden soil and a small amount of calcium superphosphate mixed culture soil. Its cultivation soil needs to be fumigated and disinfected, and when changing pots, it depends on the size of the plant, gradually increase the flowerpot, do not use large pots to cultivate small seedlings, planting should be shallow. When the big seedlings are potting and changing pots, they should make the ball 2, 3, 3, 1 and 2 live on the soil surface, so as to prevent the ball from wet rot in the soil. Avoid applying thick fertilizer, which is easy to hurt the root. Topdressing can be about 3 times a month, before fertilization, it is appropriate to loosen the soil, to choose clear days to apply fertilizer, fertilizer should not be applied from the top of the plant, should be applied on the side, and should be washed by spraying water after fertilization.

Cyclamen tubers can not divide bulbs naturally, so they can not propagate bulbs like ordinary bulbs, but need to be artificially cut into pieces to propagate. Generally speaking, when the tuber is about to germinate in late August, the tuber is divided longitudinally from the top into several pieces, each with a bud eye, and the incision is coated with plant ash and dried slightly, then it can be planted in the flowerpot, carefully managed, and the leaves can spread out and blossom soon. After the first planting, the potted soil should not be too wet. If there is a little moisture, you can gradually increase watering and give sufficient sunshine according to the germination of the plant. After the leaves grow out, the basin soil should always be kept moist. At the same time, the mature fresh liquid fertilizer was applied once a week until the fertilizer was stopped before flowering. When fertilizing and watering, avoid flooding the bulb, otherwise the terminal bud is easy to rot.
