In our life, generally, the method of seed propagation is used in cucumber planting, but we don't know much about cucumber grafting technology. Cucumber grafting technology has many advantages, generally speaking, it can overcome the harm of continuous sitting, improve resistance, enhance quality, improve yield and so on. So how to graft cucumbers? Today, let's learn the grafting technique of cucumber seedlings with the editor.

1. Preparation for grafting

For the grafting of cucumber seedlings, we need to prepare the grafted rootstocks, usually Yunnan black-seeded pumpkin and white-seeded pumpkin. The second is to prepare scions, that is, cucumber seedlings, soak seeds to promote sprouting, and so on to sow seeds; rootstocks also need to sow seeds after seed sowing. It is necessary to stagger the time when sowing, generally sowing cucumbers first, then planting pumpkin seedlings in a few years, and so on when the cucumber seedlings grow for about eight to ten days for grafting. Finally, we also need to prepare grafting tools, such as blades, bamboo sticks, grafting clips, self-adhesive tape, plastic film strips and so on.

2. Grafting method

The most commonly used methods of cucumber seedling grafting are insertion method, leaning method, split method and splicing method. Here we mainly talk about the first two grafting methods. The insertion method is divided into oblique insertion method and direct insertion method, while the oblique insertion method is to cut the cucumber seedlings into bevel, and then insert five millimeters at a 35-degree angle and fix them with a bamboo stick. The direct insertion rule is to insert the scion directly into five millimeters, and the rootstock and scion are cross-shaped and can be sprayed with clean water. The second is to rely on the grafting method, we need to deal with the rootstock and scion, grasp the depth of the incision, and then insert the scion tongue-shaped wedge into the incision of the rootstock, and finally fix it with a grafting clip.

3. Grafting management

After grafting, we should pay attention to moisturizing, move the grafted seedlings to the nutrition bowl and spray water, and we can build a plastic arch shed for moisturizing. It is necessary to reduce humidity and increase ventilation after three to four days, while maintaining a reasonable natural growth humidity with the passage of time and the growth of grafted seedlings. The second is temperature control and shading, the growth temperature should generally be kept at about 25 to 30 degrees, the lowest temperature is not less than 15 degrees, and the highest temperature is not higher than 30 degrees. At the beginning, the luminosity is not too large, you need to slowly increase the light intensity with the later growth. Finally, the axillary buds that were not removed during grafting should be completely removed and root-cutting treatment should be carried out. After the root is cut off, that is, the grafting of the grafted seedlings is completed, which can be transferred to the field for normal growth.

4. Points for attention

When grafting, we should mainly pay attention to a few points. The first is the selection of grafted rootstocks, which is suitable for local grafting; the second is that the nutrient soil on the grafted seedbed should be allocated according to a reasonable proportion, and the seedbed should be watered before grafting; there is the grafted cucumber seedlings should be moved to the nutrition bowl, and the arch shed should be built; finally, the grafting tools need to be disinfected.

The above is the grafting technology of cucumber seedlings brought by Xiaobian. In fact, when we plant cucumbers, we are still used to breeding with seeds, which will be relatively simple and not so complicated. However, if you want high yield and high quality, and the use value of the soil is further developed, then grafted seedlings is a good choice.
