How to grow seeds
Gleditsia also known as locust, its application is very wide, can be processed into soap, the fruit of Gleditsia rice can be used. In addition, it can also be used as medicine and is cultivated all over our country. Soap planting is to use seeds for sowing, so how should seeds be planted? Let's take a look.
1. Harvesting seeds
In October of each year, when the acacia is mature, seeds can be harvested from the plants. The harvested seeds are placed in the sun to dry, and then the shell of the acacia is smashed to remove impurities. The seeds are collected, packed in bags and stored in a cool area for later use. Of course, there was no need to carry out such complicated operations. He could go directly to the market to buy seeds.
2. Seed soaking and germination
The seed shell of Gleditsia sinensis is hard, in order to make it germinate as soon as possible, it will generally be soaked and germinated before sowing. Soak the seeds in clean water, change the water once a day, keep the water clean, about a week later, the seeds absorb enough water and then remove and dry. Then bury it in wet fine sand, about a month later, when the seed has cracked small mouth, you can take out sowing. In order to make it germinate faster, you can choose to soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours, remove the seeds after they absorb water and swell, and sow them directly after drying the water.
3. Land selection and preparation
Gleditsia seeds suitable for sowing in loose breathable, good drainage of sandy loam, and flat terrain requirements, so more conducive to the growth of seeds. If it is a heavy viscous soil, in the first 1-2 months before planting, it will be deeply turned several times, breaking the soil block, so that it is fully weathered, so that it can also become loose and breathable soil. Base fertilizer can also be applied during soil preparation to promote seedling growth faster. Base fertilizer is mainly decomposed organic fertilizer. Before sowing, water should be poured once to make the soil loose and breathable, so as to meet the conditions for seed germination before sowing.
4. Sowing
The common method of sowing is strip sowing, ditching on the ground, sowing the seeds directly in the ditch, paying attention to the sowing density, not too dense, so as to avoid the seeds occupying nutrients and causing germination difficulties. After sowing, cover a thin layer of soil with a thickness of about 5 cm. After sowing, irrigate the dry and wet conditions of the soil once, irrigate more when it is dry, and irrigate less or not when it is wet.
