Planting techniques of cohosh
Cohosh alias longan root, Zhouma, is Ranunculaceae, cohosh perennial herbs, its rhizome can be used as medicine, has the role of heat-clearing and detoxification, raising yang qi, mainly used for wind-heat headache, sore throat and so on. So how to grow cohosh? Let's take a look at the detailed introduction.
1. Land selection and preparation
Cohosh is suitable to grow in the area about 1000 meters above sea level, and it is suitable to choose deep soil layer, semi-shady semi-shady slope land rich in humus or sandy soil with good drainage. After selecting the planting land, we should first remove the sundries in the field, turn the soil 30-40 cm deep, apply 1000-2000 mature organic fertilizer per mu, break the soil, rake fine and level it, and make the border, requiring the border to be 20 cm high and 100-130cm wide.
2. Sowing seeds
Sowing time can be carried out in spring and autumn, spring in March to April, autumn in April, sowing in the border surface according to the row spacing of 20-25 shallow ditch, ditch depth 4-5 cm. The seeds are evenly sown in the ditch, covered with a layer of fine soil and slightly suppressed. After sowing, if the soil is dry, it should be watered once, keep it moist, and keep warm and moist with a layer of straw. Sowing in autumn is the same as sowing in spring, but in the north, attention should be paid to heat preservation measures, or planting through greenhouses.
3. Field management
In the emergence of seedlings according to the situation of the soil, timely watering during drought, keep the soil moist, promote the growth of seedlings, in the seedling stage to timely ploughing weeds, loose soil, but the depth of ploughing should be paid attention to, so as to avoid damage to the roots of seedlings. In the middle ploughing and weeding, topdressing can be applied according to the growth of seedlings, nitrogen fertilizer is the main topdressing at seedling stage, and timely drainage and soil cultivation should be carried out after the rainy season, so as to avoid water accumulation leading to plant root rot or inducing diseases and insect pests. The 2-year-old cohosh has less fruit and poor seed quality, so it is cut off during budding to make more nutrients flow into the root system, promote the root system to grow strong, and prepare for the next year's fruit.
4. Pest control
The diseases and insect pests of cohosh are less, and the disease is mainly caused by leaf spot, which usually occurs from August to September. Bordeaux solution is sprayed before the disease and zinc is sprayed to prevent the disease. The pest mainly harms the root system of the plant with grubs. Grubs usually occur in May-June, sneak into the soil and eat the roots, resulting in the gradual death of the plant, which can be controlled by root irrigation with dimethoate EC.
