Dendrobium nobile is a kind of Dendrobium, also known as flat grass, orchid and so on. Dendrobium nobile is mainly planted in Guizhou and Sichuan, especially in Chishui, Guizhou. It is also approved as a national geographical indication protection product by the State quality Inspection Bureau. So how to plant Dendrobium nobile? What are the requirements when planting? Let's follow the editor to learn how to grow it.

1. Planting preparation

Dendrobium nobile has very strict requirements on the growth environment. Generally, the average temperature of the whole year is higher than Baidu, the lowest temperature in winter is more than 3 degrees, and the frost period is no more than 15 days. The planting site should be selected in the half-shade and half-yang area, and the humidity is generally not less than 80%. The tree species planted by Dendrobium nobile had better be trees with strong vitality, such as yellow pear tree, camphor tree and so on. The planting land should have stones, and there should be moss growth on the stones. After selecting the land, land consolidation should be carried out, and nests should be made on the stone surface according to the row spacing of 40 cm and the plant spacing of 30 cm.

2. Methods of reproduction

There are generally two propagation methods of Dendrobium nobile, namely tissue rapid propagation and branch cutting propagation. Tissue rapid propagation takes about 15 days to refine seedlings, and when the leaves of tissue culture seedlings are dark green, they can be planted in bottles. Ramet cutting propagation is to select one-year-old or two-year-old robust plants without diseases and insect pests as seed plants, and then cut off the overlong roots and broken branches and withered branches that are not suitable for planting, and finally divide them into small clumps for planting.

3. Scientific planting

The best time for planting Dendrobium nobile is in March and April in spring and August and September in autumn, especially in spring, its survival rate, yield and quality are the best. There are two ways of planting Dendrobium nobile, which are stone planting method and tree planting method. When planting, we all need to fix the plant of Dendrobium candidum on the stone or on the tree trunk, if it is affixed to the tree, it is generally planted from the top down; while the stone planting rule needs to be planted according to the corresponding row spacing and plant spacing.

4. Field management

There is not much difference between the field management of Dendrobium nobile and the planting management of Dendrobium. After planting, we should maintain a certain degree of humidity and prevent excessive moisture at the same time. Topdressing is generally carried out in the second year, mainly rotten farm manure, will do very special Dendrobium fertilizer and Dendrobium nutrient liquid and other nutrients, topdressing twice a year can be. We should remove the weeds around the growth of Dendrobium in time. Pulling weeds is usually selected in rainy days, so that the root system of Dendrobium will not be hurt. When Dendrobium is growing very vigorously, we should prune and reshape properly to maintain reasonable permeability in the field. If it is Dendrobium which has been growing for many years, it is necessary to cut off part of the old roots, which can promote the growth of new plants and improve the yield and quality of Dendrobium nobile.

5. Disease and pest control

Under the influence of inadequate management or climatic conditions, some serious diseases and insect pests will occur in Dendrobium candidum. The most common diseases are soft rot, black spot, anthrax and so on. We can usually use carbendazim for control, followed by Cobo and methyl topiramate. And the most important pests are snails, Philippine shield scale, red spiders and so on, we can use lime to control snails; Philippine shield scale often use dimethoate; red spiders use low-toxic acaricides for control, such as triclofenac, the control effect is very good.
