Passion fruit is a new fruit in China in recent years, and now the planting industry of passion fruit has just been developed for a long time, and its development potential is still quite great. And the profit space of passion fruit is relatively large, so many people want to start planting, but the growth of passion fruit has certain requirements on environmental conditions. So the editor brings you the environmental conditions for growing passion fruit today. Let's take a look at it.

1. Soil

Passion fruit is originally a kind of wild fruit, which has strong adaptability to soil and can grow normally in most soil. However, although it can grow and develop, the fruit rate will be affected to a certain extent, and the quality of the fruit will be very poor, reducing the planting efficiency. Therefore, before planting, we should choose places with deep, soft and fertile, strong permeability and low incidence of diseases and insect pests, and the soil layer should not be less than 50 cm. Do not plant in areas with poor drainage and potholes, and the PH value of the soil should be controlled at about 6.

2. Moisture

Passion fruit has a large demand for water, and the lack of water in the planting process will reduce the number of nodes of passion fruit trees. And the vine length of passion fruit is not enough, the flowering and fruiting rate is reduced, and the yield is decreased. It will also lead to thinning and weakening of stems, curling and shortening of leaves, reducing the number of flowers and leaves, hindering the growth of lateral roots, affecting nutrient absorption and plant metabolism, thus hindering the growth of passion fruit. But water should not be too much, too much will cause retting root rot, causing a variety of diseases and insect pests, so water management is very important in planting.

3. Temperature

Passion fruit has a certain demand for temperature, and different varieties of passion fruit have different temperature requirements, but the most suitable temperature is generally about 25 degrees. The temperature in the planting process should not be lower than 14 degrees, otherwise the growth rate of passion fruit will become very slow or even stop growing. The low temperature resistance of passion fruit is not strong, if it is not managed well in winter, it is very easy to cause frost damage to fruit trees, and in serious cases, it will lead to the withering and death of plants on the ground. The temperature should not be too high, too high will also inhibit the growth of passion fruit, reduce the stress resistance of passion fruit, cause diseases and insect pests, and lead to plant death.

4. Lighting

Passion fruit is a kind of tropical fruit, so the demand for light is relatively large. Sufficient light can promote the growth of branches, enhance photosynthesis and increase the accumulation of photosynthetic matter. If the light is not enough, the growth of passion fruit slows down obviously, the branches grow excessively, and the incidence of diseases and insect pests increases gradually. However, when providing light, the sun should not be exposed to the sun for too long, which will lead to yellowing of leaves, hindrance of branch growth, slow growth rate, thin and withered fruit, and serious burns that affect the growth of passion fruit.

Passion fruit has strange requirements on environmental conditions, such as water and light, so it is troublesome to grow passion fruit. And these are not only the environmental requirements for the growth of passion fruit, but also the management work that we need to do well in the planting process. Only by doing a good job of these management can we ensure the normal growth of passion fruit and avoid unnecessary losses.
