Lin Zhijian, mayor of Hsinchu: Hsinchu remains the happiest city in the country

The results of the "2018 County and City Happiness Index Survey" were released yesterday (18). Hsinchu City has been the happiest city in the country for the third year in a row, and the happiness index has also reached an all-time high. Mayor Lin Zhijian said that thanks for the support of the citizens and the efforts of the municipal team, this is the glory and pride of all citizens, and it is also the driving force for him to work hard and devote himself to municipal construction. He will continue to strive for the economy in the future so that citizens can live a good life. Invite enterprises to develop in Hsinchu City, and welcome young friends to build a dream and settle down.

The "2018 County and City Happiness Index Survey" pointed out that Hsinchu City ranked first in Taiwan in terms of happiness index for three years in a row, ranking first in all subjective and objective indexes and performing excellently. Its happiness index rose to 78.6 from 76.2 last year, setting a record for the highest score in the history of happiness index statistics. It is the only two counties and cities that have exceeded the 70-point threshold. In the "Happiness coordinate" project, Hsinchu has also been selected as one of the representative counties and cities with both subjective and objective excellence.

Mayor Lin Chih-chien said that over the past four years, public-private cooperation has invested more and more in Hsinchu City every year, and good construction and high-quality activities have become the "happiness equation" of Hsinchu City. "Municipal work is not the best, only better" will continue to work hard to bring a happier life to the citizens.

The "County and City Happiness Index Survey" has been held for the seventh year in a row, and the relevant data have become an important reference index for county and city administration. This year's subjective well-being survey, conducted from October 3 to November 17, interviewed people over the age of 20 by telephone and completed 22496 valid samples in 22 counties and cities across the country. It is the largest, deepest and broadest happiness index in Taiwan, and is of great significance.
