Quinoa is a traditional food crop of indigenous people. It has a long history of cultivation and high nutritional value. It was called the mother of food by the ancient Incas. Quinoa has many colors, but the nutrients are similar, among which white quinoa is the best food. So how is quinoa usually grown? What do you need to pay attention to in the process of planting? So today we focus on learning the precautions of quinoa cultivation.

1. Sowing

Quinoa will generally be selected in the soil moisture less high terrain, good drainage, soil pH value of 5.5-8.5 plots for sowing. Second, the planting time is also worth our attention. Generally, the best planting time is from early May to late May. When sowing, pay attention to the depth of sowing, the depth is preferably about two centimeters, and it is best to use mechanical sowing, so that the average depth can be controlled and not conducive to seed emergence.

2. Water

Quinoa is generally dry sown, so the moisture of the planting ground does not need to be very high, usually kept at about 20 or 30%. Quinoa has a strong drought resistance, but it is afraid of water and waterlogging, but in the early stages of seedling growth, we still need appropriate watering to promote the growth of seedlings. Secondly, in the case of continuous drought, watering is also needed, but if continuous rainfall occurs, it needs timely drainage.

3. Nutrients

Quinoa is very vigorous in its vitality, so in the process of growth, the demand for nutrients is not very large, so when we can save costs, we will try not to increase costs. In general, we are at the critical time of quinoa growth, appropriate topdressing, the purpose is to ensure the normal flowering of quinoa, improve yield and quality. Don't apply nitrogen fertilizer on a partial basis, causing plants to grow excessively and not bear fruit.

4. Density

The growth of quinoa also has certain requirements for planting density. At the beginning of sowing, the row spacing of planting is about 50 cm for drilling, but this is not the density when quinoa is planted, and it still needs to be adjusted later. When the seedlings of quinoa grow to about 18 cm, we need to start planting and adjust the distance between each plant. Under normal circumstances, two or three strong seedlings are reserved for each plant, and the distance between each plant is about 30 cm.

5. Temperature

Although quinoa is extremely resistant, this does not mean that it can achieve high yields under all circumstances, so we also need to pay attention to the temperature suitable for its cultivation. Under normal circumstances, the temperature suitable for quinoa growth is about 10 degrees to 30 degrees, while the optimal temperature for quinoa growth is between 15 and 20 degrees. At the same time, we should also pay attention to that the temperature of the planting ground should not be lower than five degrees, nor higher than thirty-two degrees, otherwise it will affect the normal growth of quinoa.
