Eggplant will inevitably fall into a weak period in the process of planting. The first weak period does not mean that the eggplant tree will be abandoned. Farmers can make it regenerate again by pruning. So pruning is an excellent option for farmers, so what is the process of pruning?

1. Time selection

In terms of time, the pruning time of eggplant is mostly concentrated in the decay period after harvest, which is manifested as the upper branches of the first eggplant tree begin to wither, and some parts will stop bearing fruit. At this time, it is basically possible to start pruning. Some branches will also appear this way in the late fruiting period, and branches like this are recommended to be pruned immediately after harvest. Of course, the eggplant in normal season can be pruned at the end of July, and the anti-season can refer to the above to determine the time according to the plant growth.

2. Trimming parts

The pruning parts are more diverse, some places are pruned some withered branches, some will be directly cut from the stem above. We should choose the pruning method according to their own eggplant varieties. If the growth speed is fast and the yield is high, it is suggested to prune the withered branches mainly to ensure the high yield of eggplant continuously. If it is mainly greenhouse eggplant, you can try pruning from the rhizome 10-15 cm or so, or the whole plant withered can also be used in this way, so that the survival rate will be much higher, and the late eggplant fruit time will be much longer.

3. Treatment after pruning

After pruning is completed, the wound of the pruning part should be treated. Scissors are generally used for pruning. Breaking will cause secondary damage to the eggplant tree, reduce the survival rate, and is not conducive to treating the wound. At this time, carbendazim mixed water can be sprayed on the wound position to avoid the invasion of germs. Then apply more fertilizer and water more, so that the eggplant tree has enough nutrients to grow better new branches. Cut branches should be taken away from the soil, do not stay in the soil, these weak old branches carry relatively high probability of germs, to avoid forming a source of infection.

After the eggplant pruning is completed, pay extra attention to its early growth, and some may not adapt to the situation will wither. In order to reduce the influence of external factors, it is recommended to choose sunny weather but relatively weak sunshine.
