How to grow stevia
Stevia is a kind of perennial herb in Compositae. It has high use value and can be used in food, medicine, feed, fertilizer and so on. Stevia is a plant introduced from Japan in China. At present, it is mainly planted in Beijing, Anhui, Hebei, Shandong, * *, Yunnan and other places. Of course, there are also a small number of plants in other areas. So how to grow stevia? What is the method of planting? Now let's study together.
1. Preparation of soil and fertilizer
Stevia has the characteristics of warm, moist, low temperature tolerance, fear of waterlogging, not resistant to stagnant water, drought resistance is not strong, and it is very sensitive to light, so the longest light time is 12 hours. Then the planting land should generally be well drained and close to the water source, followed by loose and fertile soil, and the duration of light should not exceed 12 hours. Deep ploughing the soil, and combined with fertilization, the base fertilizer is mainly organic fertilizer, leveling the ground and opening ditches for border.
2. Cultivate strong seedlings
When raising seedlings, we should prepare the seedbed, which is generally chosen in a place with shelter from the wind, sunny drainage and convenient watering. The soil of the seedbed had better be sandy loam. After finishing the seedbed, it is necessary to build a sunshade. Stevia can be planted all the year round, and seed propagation and cutting propagation can be used respectively. Cutting seedlings and seed seedlings were carried out according to the row spacing of five centimeters and the plant spacing of about two centimeters. Watering in time after planting and keeping warm at night can promote seedling emergence and root growth.
3. Transplanting and planting
The day before pulling out the seedlings and transplanting, we should water the seedlings once and water the seedling bed thoroughly. Transfer the seedlings the next day, and take them away with the soil when moving the seedlings, so as not to hurt the roots of the plants. Transplanting is done before and after rainfall, so that the survival rate of transplanted seedlings will be higher. The temperature when planting is generally about 12 to 15 degrees, and each mu is planted according to row spacing of 45 to 50 centimeters and plant spacing of 15 to 20 centimeters. Generally speaking, the number of plants per mu is about 10, 000.
4. Field management
After planting, watering should be carried out in time until the plant survives, usually once a day for three days, and once a week at a later stage to keep the soil moist. At the same time, we also need to weed in time according to the growth of weeds in the field, so as to prevent nutrients from being absorbed by weeds and affecting the normal growth of plants. When the seedlings grow ten to fourteen true leaves, the first coring needs to be carried out, and the first topdressing is also needed at this time, mainly urea. The second picking of the heart, that is, the time of the second topdressing, is usually when the branches grow ten to fourteen real leaves, or spread urea. Finally, we should also pay attention to the prevention of blight, black spot and ground tigers, grubs and other pests.
Stevia is not only a kind of medicine, but also a kind of food, or a kind of feed, but also a kind of fertilizer, so the natural market value is also very good. Most importantly, the planting method of stevia is also very simple and easy to survive. If you encounter any problems in the later stage, remember to give feedback to the editor in time.
