Tomato is a kind of special vegetable, which can be eaten raw or fried, and its market demand is large. Tomatoes are widely planted in China, and the greenhouse planting technology is becoming more and more mature. Now tomatoes can be planted almost every season, and now many people are gradually growing winter tomatoes in the greenhouse, so how to manage the cultivation of winter tomatoes in the greenhouse? Let's take a look at it with the editor.

1. Temperature

The temperature in winter is relatively low, which is not suitable for the growth of tomatoes, but planting in the greenhouse can effectively control the temperature. Therefore, the planting temperature is the primary management work in winter, and the suitable temperature for tomato growth is about 22 degrees. And there are certain changes in the temperature in the morning and afternoon in winter, for example, the temperature in the morning is about 25 degrees, not higher than 33 degrees. Reduce about two degrees in the afternoon, the lowest temperature at night can not be lower than 15 degrees, the temperature difference between day and night will be controlled about 12 degrees. If the temperature is lower than 10, the growth of tomatoes will be affected, stop growing below 4 degrees, and in severe cases, the whole plant will be frozen.

2. Topdressing

The growing period of tomatoes is relatively long, and the yield is high, and the demand for nutrition is large and comprehensive. Therefore, we should control the proportion of nutrients in fertilizer to ensure that it contains the nutrients needed by tomatoes. Before planting, the base fertilizer should be fully applied, and in order to ensure the robust growth of tomatoes, topdressing should be done during the growing period. In the tomato seedling period, it is necessary to properly spray foliar fertilizer, once a week, spray two stages, and then apply water and fertilizer once in 4 true leaves. In addition, in the slow seedling, that is, the fruit expansion period should also be timely topdressing to promote the growth of tomatoes and avoid malnutrition.

3. Watering

Tomato water demand is very large, some people have done a special survey, in the tomato fruit development period, each plant needs to absorb at least 1 kg of water every day. Therefore, we should pay attention to watering when planting, to ensure that the soil is in a moist state, the watering method is small water drip irrigation, dry and wet. However, in order to avoid soil salinization, a flood irrigation is needed for about 28 days to remove excess salt from the soil. However, in winter, we should pay attention to the water temperature, the water temperature should be controlled at about 10 degrees, if the water temperature is less than 8 degrees, there will be a large number of hollow tomatoes, reducing fruit quality.

4. Lighting

The light demand of tomato is also relatively large, and its yield is directly related to the duration of light. In planting, we should improve the orchard permeability, remove the lateral branches and cut off the old leaves in time, which can not only increase the light area of the plant, but also reduce the nutrient consumption and promote the healthy growth of the fruit. After entering the white ripening stage of tomatoes, all the leaves in the lower part of the ear should be cut off to promote light absorption and effectively reduce the incidence of diseases and insect pests. If the natural light time is not enough, artificial lighting should be carried out when necessary to prevent the growth of tomatoes.

The above is a brief introduction to the winter management of tomatoes in the greenhouse. The growth of tomatoes also has special requirements for carbon dioxide. If the concentration of carbon dioxide in the garden is not enough, the tomatoes will die. Therefore, it is also necessary to supplement carbon dioxide in winter, or to use an appropriate amount of enzyme bacteria bio-organic fertilizer in the base fertilizer. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. Thank you for your reading and support.
