Barley, also known as Moumai, is also a kind of grain crop. Its nutritional value is similar to that of wheat, but the content of cellulose is a little higher. Barley now has the same status as wheat in China. It is a crop with high economic value, and it also has a relatively large planting area in our country. So how to grow barley? The following editor has brought you the planting method of barley, let's have a look!

1. Seed selection and seed dressing

The requirement of barley on soil is not very strict, it is suitable for the growth of barley with few diseases and insect pests and sufficient fertility. The important thing is the problem of seed selection. We should choose varieties with strong growth ability, high yield and high disease resistance. Then the new high fat membrane was used for seed dressing to enhance the seed activity and promote germination and emergence. After mixing the seeds, air-dry them and then sow them at the right time, and the sowing time of barley is not so limited. However, if you want to grow high-yielding barley, it is usually planted in early autumn. The main planting time should be determined according to the planting area and should not be sown blindly.

2. Seedling stage management

The growth process of barley is early, there are many tillers and the growth rate is fast. And the differentiation time of young spike is much earlier than that of wheat, and the root is more developed and the ability of nutrient absorption is strong in the seedling stage. Therefore, it should be managed in advance, barley has a strong resistance to barren, and barley stalk is relatively soft, if too much fertilizer, it is easy to lead to barley seedling lodging phenomenon. Therefore, it is necessary to control topdressing in the seedling stage to avoid excessive topdressing and hinder the growth of seedlings. After sowing, we should also do a good job of heat preservation, if the temperature is too low, barley will appear yellow leaves and other phenomena, which is not conducive to flowering and pollination.

3. Water and fertilizer management

First of all, when we carry out the soil preparation work before sowing, we should apply it together with the base fertilizer, which is mainly agricultural machinery fertilizer, and the dosage is about 3000kg/ mu. Then when transplanting, we should apply enough seed fertilizer, which is mainly nitrogen fertilizer and supplemented by phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. In the later stage, according to the growth of barley, the times of topdressing should not be less than twice, the tiller fertilizer should be applied at the seedling stage for the first time, and then the booting fertilizer should be applied at the jointing stage. The specific dosage depends on the growth of barley and soil fertility. Barley likes to be wet but afraid of waterlogging, so it is necessary to do a good job of watering during the growing period of barley, timely watering during drought, and drainage when there is stagnant water.

4. Timely harvest

The harvest of barley is generally about four days after the end of wax ripening, during which the water content will generally drop to about 25%. The wheat grain is relatively hard, the grain is not easy to be damaged during threshing, and the germination rate is obviously improved. The stalk also has a strong toughness, and the wheat ear should not fall off when cutting barley. When the quality of wheat grain is good, and the yield is high, whether it is seed or wheat grain is the best time, which can maximize the planting benefit.

The above is a brief introduction of barley planting methods. Barley cultivation is relatively extensive in China, and it is also a common grain. There is a large market demand, but there will also be certain planting risks. I hope you will consider it carefully before planting.
